SOOO glad it's friday

I had to work a 12 hour shift last night... lame!

I was actually working on Laura's husband Jason's boat... what is up with that first hatch to enter the boat, I thought I was stuck in a cyclone!

So I didn't get home until 4am and I am tired. But that didn't keep me away from Jade's reflections award ceremony today. They had the awards passed out thru all 3 lunches at the school, so this group of kids is only a 3rd of the entries... they took this picture for the YEAR BOOK!

Here's Jade with her drawing, and she received an Honorable Mention. But the good news is it is going onto regionals. Which I don't understand why it goes on if she didn't place, but it's awesome that her picture is moving to the next category. They said it had something to do with how many spots they needed to fill.

The principle said that at regionals they all start at the same level again regardless of where they places at the school level, and it's a whole new set of judges at the next level, so she could very well place at regionals. Either way I think she's awesome!!

Kent also brought home their first published news letter for Off-Campus, that he was a part in making. He wrote one poem, he wrote a book review and another smaller article called "meet the crew". Jade participated for a couple meetings but decided not to pursue it any further. But not before she got this drawing of Shrek and Donkey into the article.... this picture Kent is pointing to his book review, and right above it is Jade's drawing...Here's the front page of the paper, Kent's covering his last name.... but pointing to his "Meet the crew" article....Anyway, I gotta go take a nap. Did I mention I am so glad it's Friday????
