Happy New Years Eve 2008

Last day of 2008!! Where does the time go?

We were planning a family new years eve party. Jade is having 2 of her friends (the infamous Katie and Brianna) spend the night. Kent was having his cousin Kyle spend the night, but he ended up going to Idaho for a family visit. We'll definitely miss Kyle, but I think Kent will miss him the most cause our house is full of girls right now!!

After getting the girls, we went to albertsons for our party food, and then to party city for some noise makers...
I also told the kids we all had to eat something healthy tonight, so we agreed on celery with peanut butter...All the kids picked out a special treat, and Jade has been waiting for this... SUSHI!! Isn't she beautiful??This is her party hat she picked out...

Kent with his hat...Here's both kids with their party hats...Here's Jade and her friends...You can see how Kent's out numbered here... WE MISS YOU KYLE!!!

I think the blow horns were a success...

But Kent did get the new Spore game he's been dying to get, but we're still waiting for wavecable people to come out to switch our Internet from this old computer to our new one... they're coming friday morning. Poor Kent has to wait.

Such a cutie... and he has Jeromy to play some video games with...

I debated putting this picture in here, but you can't hide the LOVE...

Katie brought her "dance dance revolution" game over for the WII.

A little video of that if you can stand it LOL....

Then we had some spaghetti for dinner with yummy garlic bread... I did have the table set for all 4 teenagers, but Kent kinda whispered to me that he wanted to eat upstairs with us. Poor kid, again:

"WE MISS YOU KYLE!"

Well, it's about 6pm, and we got 6 more hours to the new year. So I am going to go ahead and post this blog and then what ever fun pictures I take, will be in tomorrow's post, the first one for 2009!!!

Happy New Year to my Mom, Dad, Misty, Dennis, Denny, Mason, Kelsey, Nick, Misty, Savannah, Violet, grandma Shield, Laura, Kimmy, Kristi, Patty, all my awesome aunts, uncles, fabulous cousins, and everyone else out there!!

More fun with 'Ro'

'Ro' is short for Aurora!! And we had her for 4 days straight!! I am not just saying this because she is the greatest step-daughter in the world, but she is the greatest step-daughter in the world!! She is so sweet, and loving. She's always hugging, and holding my hand, or resting her head on my arm. And then there's the whole part where she's super adorable, and the daughter to my awesome husband!! She just has such a sweet nature about her!!
So this blog entry is dedicated to Aurora, get ready for some serious cuteness... here she is playing with her Barbies....
And then last night we decided to wash her hair... in the tub cause her hair is so long...

How did that picture of Jade get in there, I guess the camera just caught her when she peeked into the bathroom...That dimple is just too much!!Just before drying her hair, Jeromy was ready to hang my candle holders he made... aren't they awesome, they are in our bedroom, I love purple!! (the one on the left needs a little more Windex applied!!)I wanted Jeromy to stand in front of them, but he didn't want to, but Aurora didn't mind...Ok, so time to dry Aurora's hair, I love doing this! It reminds me when Jade was a little girl and I dried her hair, I still do once in a while. I remember my mom drying my hair when I was little... wow, she looks like a little curly haired mermaid...After washing her hair, we also put some conditioner in her hair (my really good stuff) and just look at her, she's such a little angel. And when we were all done, she held my hands and thanked me for washing and drying her hair. I asked Jeromy later if he told her to say that, and he said no, she did it on her own.Poor Jade and Kent had to do homework today, they have had quite a long break, but they both had some work to do, that I know they wouldn't want to leave it to the night before they went back to school. Some times we have to force the self-discipline... here's Kent hard at work...And then Jade, she was so distraught about doing homework that she didn't want to show her face, or maybe cause she hadn't showered yet :o)Then we were off to take Aurora home. So we got a quick bite to eat... she's so cute so I snapped another picture!!We have really been having a great holiday break from work and school (even tho Jeromy goes back to work tomorrow) it has been such a nice time. It's hard to believe that I'll have only one more of these type of Christmas breaks next year before Jade graduates from high school. Then our family dynamics will change with her going off to college and being an adult. Too weird to think about....
Gotta enjoy everyday you have, and I thank the Lord for everyday he gives me with my family. You never know when it will be your last! God Bless you everyone!!

Only a couple days left of 2008!

Well, let's see, we went to Laura's church today. It is in Port Orchard, so we are making the drive again to find the right church. Hopefully this is it, I'm tired of "moving" around. But it is worth it to find the right place where we feel "right"! It was really nice being in church today, FINALLY, after missing last Sunday due to the snow!

Anyway, then we went out to The Pancake House. Love that place. Then we came home and 3 out of 5 of us crashed for an hour or 2. Vacation time is so nice. I love being able to take a nap in the middle of the day when I want to.

Then we finally dragged ourselves up, and ran to albertson's again. Nothing sounded good, and we can't keep going out to eat, so we just took the easy way out and all picked out a TV dinner. And a dessert :o)

So we just had a pretty relaxing day. Here's Aurora with her daddy... check out those EYES!!!And then all 5 of us. It took about 5 tries to get this picture. These are some pretty great people, I LOVE them all!!!

The day after... the day after...

Remember how I said there would be less pictures now that Christmas is over... well.. I lied!! I took a bunch of pictures today, and my mom says she likes all the pictures!! So these are for YOU mom!!

Well, we had breakfast this morning and Jeromy took this picture of Aurora stirring the eggs...
Then we had some more shopping to do. More errands to run. Are these 3 cute kids or what??

We had to remind our selves to be patient driving with all the busy impatient drivers out there. See how happy we are?? This took some effort people...We went to Albertsons, then Costco, and then the mall. I got calendars for all of us. I always get our calendars after Christmas when they're 50% off- Love it!!

Kenton was pretty excited about his Oreo sundae... his eyes are as big as his ice-cream...

Jade got ANOTHER pair of jeans with ANOTHER gift card she received...

Aurora got a new book at Barnes N Noble...

And this was pretty exciting, here is Kent writing his first check. When I snapped the picture, the lady said "First check?" and I said yes, and she said "How exciting!" It's always nice when people are nice and patient. She was even patient when Kent forgot to sign the check, so cute, but this was pretty cool. And his first check went thru!! The cashier lady said "Yay". I think I was more excited then Kent. He was more thrilled about his game guide purchase...

Now we are home cooking up some Orange Chicken from Costco- Aurora's favorite. We're all doing some more cleaning as well. Jeromy and I are re-arranging my craft room, Jeromy has some hobby stuff that he's going to keep in here- some stained glass stuff, and indoor wood working stuff, so we can work on stuff together. Yup, we love each other that much!!This may be hard to see, but this is Jade and Aurora helping take down the Christmas tree, actually they didn't help, they did it ALL!!! Thanks girls! What a huge help!!

Well, it's about dinner time, and all is well. Have a great evening!

The day after....

I didn't think I'd be blogging today, but then I forgot we were getting Aurora and that is definitely a picture worthy event!!!
Well we all slept really good last night after our long day. When we got up this morning, 3 out of 4 of us exercised, Jade started on the elliptical, then she took a picture of Jeromy and I doing our work out.
Then we were on our way to get Aurora. When we picked her up, she had a tray of cookies her grandma had made, she made that 7 layer dessert you make mom, it is so yummy!!Then we had been planned on going to the Japanese steak house again!!! This place is great, but I think the one in Tuckwilla is better, maybe we'll go for my birthday... I wanted to get a picture when he did the flames, but I wasn't quick enough... anyway, here's some pictures of our dinner... this restaurant is where your chairs are in a circle around a grill, and the cook prepares your food right in front of you... so cool...

And here's what my dinner looked like... Fillet Mignon (sp?) we're talking some yummy food...Then we did some serious shopping. The kids had some gift cards to use... here's what Aurora got... thanks grandma and grandpa Drydale...Jade's stash, she also had other gift cards she added together to get all this stuff....And Kenton got 2 new nunchucks for his WII. He also wanted a game but they had sold out. Well tomorrow is another day. And we were tired of shopping. Then we got home and Aurora had to get her stocking stuffers opened...Another scarf I made for Aurora, she had picked out this yarn a while ago, so I knew she'd love it...OK, we did make one more kinda large purchase... we got a new computer. Jeromy has his own business computer up stairs, but the computer the kids and I use was kinda falling apart. So the kids were so excited that we were getting a new one. The opening of the first box, this is exciting people....Aurora's new puppy was trying to help...OOOhhhhh, pretty computer, Jeromy was trying to get our Internet to run to the new computer. Spoken in the narrating voice from sponge bob:

Two hours later...

Well, he gave it a great effort. If it were me, the computer would still be in the box!!!

Anyway a couple of cute girls...

And their new slippers...ya, I know these blogs have been full of pictures the last few days, but soo much has been going on. They'll probably slow down here in a few days. But be prepared for New Years Eve, we are going to have a house full of (great & responsible) teenagers. So some cool pictures to come!

Katie OUT!!
