The last couple of days...

I was so proud of Jade the other day. She has a hard time staying focused on her homework (with out constant reminders), and doing her chores sometimes... and other things. So she had this 3X5 card and I asked her what she had on it, and she said it was a list of things she needed to get done, I was so proud of her, and I think Jeromy even shed a tear, so to give her positive reinforcement for this behavior I said I wanted a picture of her and her list... I don't think she was too thrilled, but she knows that her parents were happy about her being responsible for her own stuff... I love being the parent...

When ordering all Jade's graduation stuff, we also got her the cool "10" key chain, as in 2010! They had those available the same day as we ordered, everything else comes in the mail later...

Here's Jeromy being super cute in the garage....

Then Friday Kent finally got his braces put on! He's so dang cute! The ortho people said he looked good in braces, now I know they say that to everybody that sits in their chairs, but Kent really does look good with braces... here he is before....

Now this next picture is one only a mother can love, and maybe a grandma... they had to stick this funky contraption in his mouth so they could keep his tongue and his cheeks off his teeth to keep them dry while they applied the adhesive for the brackets... I can't help but think the creators of the movie "Predator" had braces and saw this image and got inspired to make the predator monster, but I still love ya Kent!!

Here they are applying the brackets, takes two of them to do it....

And here he is with his braces, he chose blue rubber bands for each bracket, he'll be getting an adjustment about every 8 weeks and then he can pick a new color of rubber bands, there are several colors to choose from....

Jeromy picked up Aurora this morning, we finally get to see her again! She is the cutest little 10 year old girl! And he is one happy daddy with her around!

We have our church fellowship potluck tonight. And Jade also has to make another dish for her food science class, so this works out. She wanted to make a dessert today, and she chose Vanilla-Fudge Marble Cake! She doubled the recipe cause there will be alot of people there! Aurora helped Jade by reminding her to double each ingredient as she added it to the bowl!

Aurora gave a thumbs up to the ingredients....

A super cute one of Kent and his braces. He's adjusting the dull ache the braces give you while they are slowly pulling your teeth into alignment.

And more mixing, here's Jade alternating buttermilk and flour to her cake batter....

Here she's adding the chocolate to the vanilla part of the cake... I know you guys are on pins and needles watching this, it's just too much excitement, I KNOW!!!!

Here's the aftermath... don't look grandma Cindy!! I think it made such a mess cause she doubled it and none of my bowls can really hold that much batter so it kinda got everywhere! And she still has to make the semi-sweet chocolate drizzle icing for the top of the cake!So that's it for today, at least where the picture taking for this blog is concerned! I'll take a picture of Jade finished cake and post it later.
