Fantastic Thanksgiving Fun....

And it ain't over yet...

I was bringing appetizers over to Misty's for Thanksgiving, I really did spend alot of time on-line trying to find recipes... and I had a hard time finding something. Well, these looked yummy, and extremely easy... so that's what I made...
I just got some Pillsbury dough and it's already pre-cut, but then it calls to cut the triangles into smaller triangles, like so... and then spread this YUMMY basil/pesto spread on them...
Aren't they just the cutest little bite size snacks???And now look at them.... toasty goodness...Then I made some classic stuff, when ever I make these I always think of my Auntie Mary!!Then it's off to Misty and Dennis' house! Here's grandma and grandpa... did you guys plan to where matching blue colors??
Here's 2 adorable girls... Kelsey and Misty....
Look at that turkey... YUM! Dennis did a great job, and it tasted delicious! Kent said that turkey looked good enough to be in commercials... hahaha, he cracks me up!
Here is some serious cuteness... isn't she so cute in her purple velvet dress????
Some handsome boys, Kent and Mason....
My kiddos...
YUM YUM YUM....
Uh oh... we had an incident with the cranberries.... not mentioning any names... right Mason?
Classic Thanksgiving picture.... Jade with her turkey leg, I have a picture of her when she was really little chewing on a turkey leg...
Man we look tired... I think I'm drunk on turkey... soooo sleepy....
Here's the Quinn family, minus Kelsey who was taking a nap...
And our side of the family...
We had a great time Misty and Dennis and everything tasted sooooo goooood, thank you!
After we left Misty's we had a present to drop off to a young man who just turned 8. Alex!
Michelle's family was just about to eat their thanksgiving meal, so we hung out for a bit, and then had round 2 of desserts... you know how the Grinch's heart grew 3 times that day in the movie? Well, I think my stomach grew 3 times it's size that night... wow, I'm still full... Here's Julia and Jade...
Looks like Jeromy caught himself a 20 pounder....
There's Jeromy and Ashton, he's such a cute little boy...Nadia couldn't decide which pie to choose, and there were still 2 other pies on the counter... and lots of whip cream.... I mean alot! The Schooler family also stopped by with a huge bag full of cookies... they were called "Cow cookies" cause they had Chocolate Oatmeal and Walnuts in them get it? Cow cookies? And they were pretty darn tasty, too, some how we ended up taking the bag home- score!

We continued hanging out with the Trig family the next day... Jeromy thought it would be fun to play ping pong with the kids...

Kent found some time to work on his homework, he's so responsible, I just thought it was funny that he was wearing his hood with the earphones over his hood....Ashton enjoying some spaghetti...

Aiden also enjoying some spaghetti...

Laura's family also came over for a while. Some of the kids were putting on little show for the rest of us... we were cracking up, I was especially cracking up when Jason was imitating Laura's laugh- hysterical! Here's some of the group applauding the last skit.Well, that's about it for now. I had a bunch of cute videos but I can't seem to down load them right now, bummer!

Hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving!!!

What a difference a day makes....

Who was that complaining person yesterday anyway, good thing there was that Bible verse at the end- to end on a positive note...

Anyway, I started this morning at 6am on my treadmil, and did my 3 miles @ 5.0 mph. I had alot of running around to do, and I wanted to get my run out of the way- for 2 reasons, so I'd have a fresh start to the day feeling energized after working out, and to burn off any lingering "stresses" from the last few days. Well, it worked, even Jeromy said "there's my happy wife again!".
So I wrote my list out last night so I'd be prepared this morning. I do NOT want to have to go shopping friday for any reason!I got everything done except getting my Christmas cards ordered, but I want to wait till Jeromy is with me to help me pick them out, I just know he wouldn't want to miss out on that hahaha!

Costco wasn't too bad...

Also stopped at JCPenney's to get my shampoo and conditioner at the salon, I am out of conditioner... and my hair is not happy... also stopped at Albertsons and Target...Last stop... you know it...Jeromy has his BNI meeting this morning (Business and Networking group he's a part of) and I had ordered this Vitamin C moisturizer ( love it!!!) from this lady and Jeromy was able to pick it up for me...Then I headed over to Kent's school, it's still hard to believe he's going to a high school (part time), to pick him up. As I write this blog I am waiting for Jade to call, and then I pick her up from OC, then the kids' 4 day weekend begins!

Now I don't want to burst your bubble of how wonderful you think Jade is... cause she is.... but she's been grounded for the last couple of days. She "struggles" with getting her homework/chores done on time... and there's no reason for it... she's almost 18, she needs to get these self-disciplines down now.

So while she's grounded monday thru wednesday (I know, I'm so tough- no computer, video games, or movies- I though about taking her cell phone away, but that would just inconvenience me haha !) I thought I'd help her organize her schedule with a HUGE poster board of things to do during the week that she had to mark off when she was done so there's none of this "I forgot".

Jeromy and I have been adding chores as we find stuff to help her fill in her "free" time. She really is such a great kid, she just takes her punishment with a great attitude. I think she almost likes having everything written out.

Kent has been letting himself slack a bit in keeping his focus, and I was teasing him asking him if he needed to be grounded like Jade, and he said "well, if you think I need it", these kids crack me up!

So as you can see, Jade got everything marked off her Monday to do stuff, so I drew a red star for Monday, and yesterday she said she wanted spongbob for Tuesday, so I found a spongbob sticker for Tuesday... how can I stay mad at these kids, they are so cute and they crack me up.

Anyway, gotta go get ready for work. Take it easy!

work

Sometimes work can be tough... I think about 50% of the muscles in my body ache from a job last night- including that sore spot in my calf that I reinjured from my crazy jump a few weeks ago, and as I finished I smacked my head real hard on a sharp pipe in the bottom of the boat... my boss is being a major "joy" to work for... working with male co-workers that think it's ok to "bump" into you.... just one of those days... there is SO much more to complain about- but I have to stop after 4 complaints... I just have to remember, it pays the bills... and also...

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Sunday night...

Here's how Jade's wraps turned out, they sure were yummy. Remember how I said it was a Mexican theme last night? Well, actually it was Italian night, woops! Jade's burritos were the only Mexican food there, hahaha! Aurora and Jeromy were resting watching a movie together, and they were so cute!!!
Here's Jade doing the dishes... she had a little mishap, I was cracking up, she somehow disconnected the long faucet while she was spraying water... and Jeromy's in the background fixing it...
We also have some Trigs staying with us tonight... here's Tessa....Here's all 3 girls... Nadia, Tae and Tessa.... such sweet cute girls....

I told Jeromy all us girls needed some chocolate, he was so sweet, he got us all some chocolate chip cookies....YUMMMMM!

Good night!

Yay for the weekend!!

Jeromy picked up Aurora last night @ 5pm. It's nice cause he gets to be with her just one on one for a bit. It's right at dinner time, and Aurora loves chicken fingers at Red Robin, so that's where they went in Tacoma. And my amazing husband took a picture cause he knew I'd want to see there cute faces!
Then last night Jeromy and Aurora played some board games, played some spelling games, etc. They had to clear the table to play and Jeromy called me (cause I was at work) to tell me that Aurora accidentally dropped the pepper shaker and it broke, he said she was a little upset about it. But it was no problem. I thought maybe Jeromy could glue it back together, but he took this picture and I think the pepper shaker's life is over.... I couldn't help laughing when he showed me the picture when I got home. We are having our hangout time with other church friends tonight at Laura's. And the theme is Mexican, Jade needs to cook a meal for her food science class, so to the Internet she went.

She found a ground turkey and rice wraps recipe that sounded really yummy. And we can make some with out cheese for Jeromy, too. So we headed out to get a few of the ingredients that we needed...Here she's cooking away... (she's wrestling with the salsa jar here, but she won!)
Since we had Aurora this weekend I thought it would be a good time to start taking some good ol' family pictures so we have a nice one to choose from for our Christmas cards...

You'd think it would be less stressful not being at an actual photo studio, but remember the part where I said my husband is a big kid at heart, and he drives me a little crazy???? Well, trying to get the kids angled right and then Jeromy starts poking the kids while I'm getting the camera on a timer making sure every one's in the shot, then they start laughing and fall out of the pose... well, all I can say is that I love him....

Anyway, here's some of the shots, but the one we are going to use isn't in this batch, cause it's going to be a surprise... well not a huge surprise cause you get the idea...Some of these were just funny cause some of our faces weren't quite in the shot. Or this one where everyone was kinda doing there own thing so I just snapped the picture and that got their attention, Kent's face cracks me up in this one...
I also have 8X10's, one of Jade and one of Kent in black and white when each of them was 10 years old. Well, Aurora is 10, so I wanted a picture of her, too, in black and white. So I took a few pictures of just her cute little face, Jeromy also took a little photo shoot of her, this is him trying to tell her how to pose, I thought it was pretty funny...

Dad and daughter....Jeromy also went to check out the chickens this morning... and look what he found... FINALLY...

Lastly, I think I need to revise my list of things I'm thankful for... A couple people said they thought my list was a little out of order... I'm not naming any names but here goes... and just cause the persons name is in italics and a different color doesn't mean anything....

#1 Jesus will always be number one for saving me.

#2 My husband.

#3 Jade.

#4 Kenton.

#5 Aurora.

Then there's "List #2" a totally different list than "List #1" of who I'm thankful for. And who is at the top of this wonderful #2 list???

MY MOM!!! THAT'S RIGHT! IT'S YOU MOM AT THE TOP OF THIS LIST, JUST YOU MOM, ONLY YOU, ONLY YOU CAN FILL THIS NUMBER ONE SPOT ON MY 2ND LIST OF PEOPLE I AM THANKFUL FOR. THANKS MOM FOR ALL YOU'VE DONE FOR ME THRU OUT MY 34 YEARS OF LIFE...

Ok, now we got to get ready to go eat a bunch of great food. Have a great weekend out there!
