Kent's Birthday Weekend!!!

Kent's "for real" birthday is this next Saturday, June the 13th, but we have the Sound to Narrows Run, so we had it this weekend...

There was alot of planning involved, cause you only turn 15 once in your life ya know! We had Aurora this weekend so I had 3 great kids to help me prepare!

We started first by coloring this huge "Happy Birthday" banner for Kent....
Then we hung it above the garage...Kent's cake made with love, and 15 candles, and candles that spell his name....Jade and Aurora, my awesome helpers, frosted all the cupcakes...
Here's those 3 great kids again...The girls helped me wash and cut up fruit, put all the chips into bowls and just set up everything real nice. At the last minute, we thought we may not have enough food, so Jeromy ran to Albersons and got a 50 piece fried chicken box with some potato and macaroni salad, I'm glad we did!
I like this picture... 3 generations, we needed you to make it 4 generations great-grandma Shield- we LOVE you! And what do you get when you have these 3 generations together.... this is hilarious, I crack my self up.... NEAPOLITAN ICE-CREAM.... get it? Strawberry, vanilla and chocolate. My mom was making me laugh cause she kept saying "I don't want to be the strawberry!"

Kent and his grandma Claire and grandma Cindy...Gorgeous girls: Jade and Stevie...Some random pictures... I actually did a head count of how many kids who were at Kent's party... and are you ready???

THERE WERE 31 KIDS!!!

This group of 4 kids standing with Kent are our old neighbors: Michael, Kathryn, Schyler & Stephen. It was great to see all 4 of them! You may remember Kathryn was the girl who lived with us for about a year a while ago.

I think Hannah is probably saying.... " Seriously? do you really need to have that camera right in my grill when I'm trying to eat? really?" And I say YES!!

More random pictures...

Me and my beautiful baby girl...

My beautiful baby girl holding Laura's beautiful baby girl...
My fabulous husband!!

Hannah and a grandma that looks an awful lot like her grandma....

Alot of the teens went out side and played some games, this one reminds me of a teen version of duck duck goose, but they'd probably get mad if I called it that. They also played a pretty ruthless game of dodgeball.
The kids played this other game inside, too, I think they were calling it "Do you love your neighbor?"

Grandma Cindy, Kenton, Grandpa Lee & Jade Lorraine....

Me and my 15 year old birthday boy!!!!

Kent and Jeromy's parents: Chuck and Joanne- thanks for coming out!!!

Some of the girls broke off into Jade's room and painted each others finger and toe nails!
Shane was checking out the girls up stairs....

Kent says... "I wear my dork glasses at night, cause I can, cause I can"

Ashton getting caught up in the ribbons....

Jason looking pretty cool in his bike gear eating his chicken, glad you could make it Jason, and Jeromy told me the story you shared with him of when you first knew Kent.... gross! I'll just let you all know it involved his nose.... and his finger.... GROSS!!
Some of us girls, Beriah, Laura, Moe and myself...

So people started filtering out. We had planned on having 4 kids spend the night which would make 7 total with our 3. Well, we ended up with 12 kids here over night, including our 3. It was kinda crazy, fun, exhausting, entertaining, LOUD and Kent had a great time, so that's why we did it! And Jeromy was a great sport to agree with it, cause I don't think I could have done it my self.

So we made a huge pot of spaghetti and 2 loaves of garlic french bread...

This is crazy looking, but here are the 12 plated of dinner, not counting Jeromy and myself... Aurora was the only one who didn't want spaghetti sauce...

We lined up 3 tables end to end... so many kids...

Here's the original group of boys for Kent's sleep over: Kenton, our favoritest cousin Kyle, Philip, Dalton and Austin. A great group of boys who are polite and respectful... and moved around the house like a pack of elephants....

The kids played card games for a few hours and were cracking up, I was laughing just listening to them. I was so cool to see Kent with all his friends having a great time on his birthday....then it was bedtime at midnight.... then breakfast time.

I was making pancakes and bacon. I got up at 6am to start the cooking to make sure I could make all the food for all 12 kids before church.
Kent doesn't look very happy in this picture but he was just really really tired. Bedtime was at midnight, but I think they were up "a bit" past that.

The girls found the bamboo out back... now that's a serious stick...

Beriah, the tree climber...
Aurora and Jeromy, monkey tree climbers...

Here's a video of them....

So then we went to church, and dropped off all the kids to their families. What a party!

And what do you do after you've had 31 kids running thru your house, inside outside, with bare feet onto white carpet??

Well, I took a deep breath, and drug out the serious artilery... the vacuum and the carpet steam cleaner...

Look how nasty that water is!!!AAAhhhhhh, now I can relax, it looks soooo nice now, I need to do the whole house, but I am soooo exhausted. The living room will have to do for now....Happy 15th Birthday Kenton, and thank you everyone for coming, and those who couldn't come for all the well wishes for Kent!

KATIE - IT WAS A FABULOUS PARTY! I would not have survived the overnight part though. I can't imagine having that many big kids in my house at one time for so long. Love Kent's glasses. I hope he had a wonderful time and we love him big bunches! Love all the pictures. You outdid yourself!
Love, Mom
