Lots going on this past weekend....

So much so that I'll have to do it in 2 blog installments. So today is all about Saturday and the parade in Port Orchard.

The parade is called Fathoms of Fun, and our church has a slot in the parade. We were 89 out of about 110 groups that ran thru the parade, and I think we were the only church. But before the parade, there were several booths set up kind of like a home and garden fair, there was Home Depot and other businesses. And our church had a booth, too, to talk to people about our church and about God. Before we get into that, here's some pictures of us all by the water, it was a gorgeous day...
Kent and Kyle...
Jeromy and Jade and a couple of other people worked the booth from 1:30-5:00. Here's Jeromy in action doing the "Good Person" test to people who wanted to participate... can you make out the sign on top? "Are you ready for eternity?"
All us girls had braids for the event...We got snacks for the kids, Kyle got funnel cake, I've never seen that before, it tasted good, thanks for sharing Kyle...Kent has always liked Icees...
Aurora's bubble gum flavored Icee...More evangelizing by Jeromy, he's a natural...
Look who I ran into, my half brother Jacob...Then it was time to go get ready the parade. We started heading to the parade starting point. We found our spot #89 slot, we had our trailer decorated for the 4th of July, and everyone who came got a shirt, one of the shirts Jeromy made!!!
Jeromy loaded up on some more sun block, but it was too late, he already had a bad sunburn on his forehead...
Here's the family, getting ready to walk in the parade, there were alot of little kids, so alot of people got bunny ears in their pictures!
Here's some pretty cool moms: Katie, Miranda, Moe, Laura & Michelle...
Here's Jeromy helping fill up their baskets with tracts (little messages about the gospel) and candy to pass out while we walk thru the parade, I thought it looked cool with the backs of their shirts....
Here's us waiting in line with all the other parade people...
Me and my super cool kids: Jade and Kent...
Super cute Jeromy....
Looks like Jeromy caught himself a Max....
While we were waiting, this lady walked by with her horse and let the kids pet it...
And we finally started walking...
Here's a couple of dad's (Jason and Jeremy2) strolling both their Hannahs-- we actually have 3 Hannah's in the church... Hannah1, Hannah2 & Hannah3??
Look at the back of all those cool shirts, this was only about a quarter of the people pictured here that we had from our church walking in the parade...
While walking we spotted Misty's family, Hey guys!!! See Kelsey sitting on Dennis' lap? I think this was Kelsey's first parade!!I took this picture one second too late, Hannah had her little pointy finger out pointing at stuff, I think this was her first parade, too! Here's the Smith/Norris family after the parade... good looking bunch of awesome family! After the parade, we were taking some of the girls over for sleep over to get ready for Aurora's 10th birthday party on Sunday. Laura was great in keeping Kent over night again, so we were just having girls tonight. When we left everyone was hungry, so we went to the bowling alley at 9pm. Here's poor Jeromy and his sunburn, it may be hard to make out but he got cooked good....You want to see what kind of fun we were in for tonight? Here's one of the girls spending the night....Here's another one....The restaurant was empty except for one other family that had 4 kids in their group, cause we were LOUD! The kids had alot of fun with their food.... can you tell??So that ended our awesome Saturday, which leads into Sunday, but this is a long blog already and there are just as many pictures tomorrow for Aurora's birthday. But you'll have to tune in tomorrow for those fantabulous pictures!

YAAAYYYY, the sun is back!

lazy summer days....

For the kids anyway! Here they are lounging around in their sweats all day...
Actually, Jade has her college class tonight. She got all 4 assignments done for tonight's class. Then Stevie's parents are coming over to pick up Jade to spend the night. Then it's back to the lazy days of summer for her.
We finally tried the gluten-free waffle/pancake mix we got a while ago, and I got a thumbs up from everyone. It was kinda funny, Jeromy said his was a little mushy, so I tried again and Jade said hers was a little too crunchy, so I tried again and Kent said it was "Juuuuust riiiiight"!
In other news, Jeromy's been working on the order of 100 T-shirts for the church for the Parade in Port Orchard this weekend, I think the fair is called Fathoms of Fun. Anyway, there were some issues with the printing that was out of Jeromy's control. But with out going into a page long list of issues, he's making it work. For a little while there we were really concerned they may not get done... (the company that made the printer he JUST bought is crapping out, they are sending him a new one ASAP).
Anyway, Jeromy said it's thanks to God that he's getting them done. He had to tweak a few things, but he's getting them done! He's got about 15 done right now. Here's some pictures of the job... remember this is not his design, one of the guys in the church came up with it, and then Jeromy thru his sheer brilliance (ya, I love him) transfers/traces it onto the computer.
This shirt is the first one that has used up all 6 of his screens to make, super cool!
Here he pulls on of the screens down, and applies the color, then he swivels the contraption to the next screen and pulls it down to apply the next color, so you can see how multiple colors can add to the labor of the job.
And a cool video of Jeromy in action. And he's not in his PJ's this morning! HAHAHA
I'm baking cupcakes right now, we are having another potluck at work tonight. And since there are only 9 people in our crew (that's if everyone shows up) there'll be left over cup cakes for the family!
I've been having some issues with my hip again from running...
SUPER LAME!
So I am going to be doing alot of walking for a while to let it feel better, I want to be able to do the Whaling Days, I may have to do the 1 mile as opposed to the 4 miles, I'll have to see how my hip does. I also heard thru the grape vine that one of my favoritest aunts (I have 4 ya know) is thinking about doing the one mile with a bunch of us! I hope she does!!!
Also, I talked to a few people about the half marathon in November, and my co-worker Regie told me last years run it was snowing and people were running on ice.... so I thought to myself... "self, you hate being cold", so we thought maybe we should shoot for the summer 2010 half marathon, it looks like Seattle does it twice a year.
Have a great day!

Attempt #2....

I tried to donate blood again this morning, and it worked!!

When they do the finger prick blood test, last time my red blood cell count was off the scale. This time I was with in the proper range. And what was good is they said it wasn't even in the high end of the range, it was right in the middle.

Soooo, they are pretty sure I was just dehydrated.

Soooo, no more running on the treadmil the morning before I donate.

Soooo, that's all folks... where's the dang sun people???

Jade's first day of college, and Kent's lame allergies...

Today we all jumped in the car to run some errands.

Jade has her first English 99 class at the Poulsbo Olympic College campus tonight, and since I have to be at work tonight, I wanted to drive there this morning to get some pictures of her at the campus. While Jade and I were there, we dropped the guys off at the new Wal Mart up there, Jeromy needed some supplies for the shop (he's got a T-shirt order of 100 shirts to make by Saturday!!), and Kent had some birthday gift cards he wanted to spend there.

So we dropped them off, and Jade had a little photo shoot at the college...

Cool... statues....The campus is just a large building. They hold a few classes here as opposed to the much larger campus in bremerton. But I like the fact that's she's at this newer smaller location... and closer to Grandma Cindy in case of an emergency or just a sleep over after class :o)Here's Jade's college planner and her book for class....After we were done, we picked up the guys, and then we headed to group health, we had an appointment for Kent cause he is just suffering so bad with his allergies that he needs something stronger. While out, Jade got to pump the gas, I was starting to get out of the car to do it, but Jeromy's like "Jade's got to do it", sounds good to me, that means I can take pictures... I know people I have a problem with the camera, but at least I KNOW I have a problem, and knowing is half the battle... hahahaJeromy helping Jade... while I'm snapping pictures....Then Jade drove us home, this is my back seat view, I'm not a very good "back seat driver" but who is??? Jade does really well, she tends to hug the right side of the lane when driving which makes taking right turns a l-i-t-t-l-e stress-ful, but over all she's doing great! Now we're home, here's Kent with all his allergy stuff: Zyrtec, his nose spray and some Vaseline for his poor nose that is getting so red and raw, that Vaseline stuff works pretty great. Here's a happier Kent with his new purchase, which he is now patiently waiting for me to get off the computer so he can play. But I told him I must blog first, people wanna know the happenin's of the day.

Now I gotta go do my 3 miles.
