Some awards....

Well, my work schedule has been kinda crazy this week. One reason is cause I had to come in to an award ceremony at 11am, then go back to work at 4pm and work till midnight.

Anyway at the award ceremony, I received my 10 years of government service pin.... drum roll please.... I can't believe I've been in the shipyard 10 years...I also got this award plaque thing....It was a cool picture...So I, along with 100 or so other people had to sit thru the rest of the ceremony. They have alot of awards to give out: Excellence in leadership award, best supervisor, greatest mechanic, apprentice etc.

Well, while sitting there, the announced the nominees for "safe employee of the quarter" and they called my name! I've done a few of the health awareness activities the shipyard has put out, like climbing the stairs to the equivalent of climbing Mt. Rainer, and we had a VVP (volunteer protection program) booklet that was shipyard wide, it takes a few months to complete, and I was the first one in my shop to complete it, so those were the reasons I was nominated. Well, after they announced the other 5-6 nominees, they announced the winner... it was me! I went up again and got another plaque thing and received a shipyard PDQ sweat shirt....

So that was kinda cool. Here's the kids enjoying those chocolate pretzel sticks mom....And as you may remember Kent is taking AP chemistry. Well, you may not have know that today is National Mole day. It has some thing to do with molecules. It is the unit of measure: 6.02 X 10 to the 23rd power (I'm so glad I'm done with school). Kent's teacher was offering extra credit to kids who showed up at the starbucks in our town at today, October the 23rd 6:02 am this morning- get it? The October is the 10, the day is the 23rd power and the time is for the 6.02. And they got more extra credit if they brought a parent with them.

Well, I got off work last night about midnight, couldn't sleep very well cause I knew I was getting up early, got up at 5:30 and Jeromy and I drove him to the starbucks, there were alot of kids and parents there, and the teacher passing out the paper with one stamp if you showed up and 2 stamps if your parent was with you, I asked the teacher does he get extra points if his mom works swing shift? But I don't think he heard me... here's Kent with his sheet proving he got his extra credit points....

I tried to sleep most of the morning, I got some rest in. Now I am getting ready to run on the treadmil. This is my last week of running at 4.8mph, next week I bump it up to 4.9mph, I'm crazy I know.

Hope you all have a great friday!
