We had a pretty busy day today. But I was away from work, and any day away from work is a great day!!
Ok, onto our amazing Saturday! I went to my mom's house to pick up Kent to take him to his Running Start Orientation at the Olympic College in Poulsbo. But first I had to go see Jade who was a sleeping little angel...

But first a picture of our awesome dinner last night... I set the table for just the 2 of us... notice the cheesy candles?
Here's the man with his meat and potatoes!!!
Here's both kids with grandma Cindy, can you tell Jade just woke up???
So off to Kent's orientation. It was so exciting. The Poulsbo campus is so nice. They had alot of information for us, for Kent, starting in the fall; what classes he could take, what paths to follow for certain degrees, all the clubs and activities he could be a part of. He said he wasn't nervous just overwhelmed, but I reminded him that all the kids in there felt like that and it was a natural feeling and it was OK!
I was so proud of him. The lady kept saying how all these juniors and seniors in this running start program are all "college students" and would be treated as adults. And the college professors want the students to interact during class lectures. So she kept asking questions to make the kids speak up. Well, Kent is not a shy kid, part of me was a little nervous cause I never really know what's going to come out of his mouth (nervous laughter from mom) but he raised his hand every time she asked a question, most of the kids were shy so she chose Kent a couple times to answer the questions. In a crowded room of kids and parents- I would never have done that at that age! He's amazing--- and he didn't embarrass me hahahahaha!
Ok, here's were Saturday gets even more amazing... are you ready??? Ok, well, if you remember my training, today was the 8 mile day!
And I did it! I can't believe it, I ran 8 miles. That is the most I have ever run in my whole life people! The most I have ever ran was 7.45 in the sound to narrows race (twice). So this was a huge accomplishment for me. And what's even better is that nothing hurt when I was done. I felt great! Of course this picture was taken BEFORE the run, the after wasn't pretty LOL!
So here's the stats...
8 miles @ a 12 minute mile pace = 96 minutes or 1 hour and 36 minutes of continuous jogging. Yup, I can hardly believe it myself. And I burned 1,297 calories! I'm starting to think maybe I could handle a full marathon! But not this year, don't want to get ahead of myself, I'll stick with the half marathon for now!
So where was Jeromy during all this time? Well, he was picking up his adorable daughter Aurora. And since I was busy with Kent and my run, he asked what Aurora wanted to do for a few hours, and she picked the ZOO! What a great day for it! His camera was about to die, so this picture of them with an otter in the background will have to do. I teased him about why he couldn't have gotten a cool picture with a zebra or a gorilla... but an otter? See Aurora's cute haircut?
So eventually we all made it back home, and headed back out to dinner to Fiesta. I figured I burned 1,297 calories, I deserved some Mexican and a couple of brownies :o)
Then we went to Barnes N Noble and we all got new books, except Jeromy cause he has too much to read already... daddy and daughter...
Aurora really is the sweetest girl ever. She's so huggable! And being the daughter of the man I love makes her really easy to love... ok is this too much cheese for ya? Can't help it, just look at her dimple!
I love this, all 3 kids love to read!!!
Ok, enough for one day? Nope, Jeromy and I wanted to get a little more done on the painting project. We had some base coat painting to do before the brown painting. Jeromy putting up plastic to protect furniture and the bookcases... good man...
I look happy here, but painting over my ivy was a little painful. My mom painted it for me in this house and also in my first house, ivy is my favorite... but I guess it's time for a change...
Here's some before and after pictures, here's the ivy...
And now no ivy :o( also Jeromy painted the back area ceiling, he had removed all the popcorn and retextured, so it needed a base coat of paint...
And these 2 walls in the kitchen area were painted a darker green, so we thought we should give them a base coat of white also before the brown goes on so all the walls look the same "shade" of brown. Also there were some large holes in this wall that needed to put retouched up... hence all the mud and spackle...
And after, it doesn't look like a very even coat, but we just wanted to get it more white than dark green- mission accomplished.
Ok, now it's time to unwind. We all sat down, us girls anyway, to play a board game. Then it was time for all the kids to get ready for bed.
What a great day!
.... I can't believe I ran 8 miles.... crazy... cool
