Saturday

I picked up the kids early this morning from Grandma's house- thanks mom, because Kent wanted to participate in the Arthritis Awareness Walk this morning at the local park. He gets service points for Honor Society for participating.

So Jade got dropped off at Sylvan for 2 hours, and then Jeromy, Kent and I all headed to the park. It was a beautiful day. We signed up for the 1 mile walk cause we didn't have time for the 3 mile walk, there's no running in this one.

Jeromy and I cheesing it up...Kent checking out the snack table... well, we all checked it out :o)My 2 favorite guys again...

Just before the run started they hard a warm up for the group to music, and they did the macarana.... well, I don't do the macarana.... but Kent does, and apparently he's done it before, we were cracking up.... love that kid...

And we're off. The walk was along the waterfront which was awesome. It's hard to see, but the trail of people gets really small in this picture....

After we were all done-- and I have to add-- we were the first 3 done, we're speed walkers ya know! Anyway when we got to the finish line, the organization was passing out tulips to all the mom's for Mother's Day... SWEEEEET!Then we left and picked up Jade from Sylvan, dropped the kids off at home, then we headed to Tacoma. We were going out to Lunch with Jeromy's step-mom, "we" meaning "me". Joanne, myself and Joanne's foster daughter Patsy all went out to Apples Bee's. Kat, Jeromy's sister-in-law couldn't make it cause she had another mother's day thing planned. So it was just the 3 of us. It was nice to get out and chit chat and eat...While we were gone, Jeromy helped his dad move some gravel onto their driveway... (there's that cowboy hat again.... it just might dissapear... just kidding Jeromy!)When we got back they were still hard at work, there was nothing for us to do but pull out some super cool lawn chairs and watch until they finished....Then we headed home. Here's a picture Jade sketched of herself...I have to confess, I haven't done that exercise video yet, I think I'm scared... and tomorrow morning I have to run 5 miles to keep in line with my training for the 12K. I haven't run 5 miles in a LONG time. But this training slowing increases your distance. And I have been doing 3-4 miles overs the past few weeks, so I'm sure I can do 5 tomorrow, but if I'm wabbling around tomorrow in church or at my mom's you'll know why.... and the tentitive plan is to do the video monday.... we'll see....
