Birthday... fun with Aurora... early Mother's Day presents

First I have to say Happy 8th Birthday to my nephew Mason!! I clearly remember when he was born, he was the cutest little new born baby boy.... and now he's 8!!! Happy Birthday Mason! Here's Aurora just before we went to church this morning. She brought her Easter dress to wear, she is sooo cute! Here's another one of the cousins, Kyle spent the night last night, thanks Kyle for posing for the 2nd picture, I know I only said one, but I appreciate you doing 2!Oh, I also want you all to know Jade had her first drive time yesterday at 5pm with the instructor. I made sure the guy KNEW she had never been on the actual road, and he said that's what this class is for! So she was actually driving around town yesterday for an hour. It is just too crazy to believe. He said she actually did really good for a first time. But she needed to work more on S.M.O.G. which stands for Signal, Mirrors, Over the shoulder, and GO! This is the acronym the class came up with for what to do when changing lanes... kinda cool.

So, we pick her up from the class.... and get this.... we let her drive us home!!! It was so scary, I couldn't even sit in the front, I had Jeromy sit up in the front. I was white knuckling it all the way home, but she actually did really well, but I was still a nervous wreck! I mean she was just born, and now she's driving ME home.... crazy I tell ya!

OK, so Jeromy and I were at Costco, and we've been talking about how BADLY we need pans, but we just can't afford it, I mean I need to start saving for Jade's senior year cause stuff is expensive. So anyway, I was talking once again about the requirements of my new pans. Cause all I've ever had is hand me downs. Which of course I greatly appreciate - Thanks MOM! But I think some of these pans I've had since I moved out as a teenager. They are old, and I'm so tired of how the food always sticks no matter what.

So after admiring the pans, Jeromy puts the pans in the cart! I was like "we can't afford it" the kids haven't moved out of the house yet-- that's when I figured we get new pans! But he said "happy early mother's day".... new pans people!! With awesome glass lids, I really wanted glass lids that are see-thru. Did I mention I've never had new pans hahahah! Here's my new box of pans....

Here's a couple of my old pans.... they are so old and warped, they don't even sit on the stove evenly....Look at these beautiful pans, I can't wait for the first time I make scrambled eggs in them and have them come out perfectly fluffy, and not brown from burning to the flaking chipped pan, I hate brown eggs! (please ignore bright shiny spot on my forehead!)So again, Happy Birthday Mason, had alot of fun with Aurora this weekend, and alot of other kids, too, got a couple new gray hairs while my daughter drove me home, and I got new pans!

Woo-Hoo!

Jade called me about her driving - I was so happy she did. I told her how proud of her I was. Your pans look awesome but it's really hard to ignore that shiny spot on your forehead. Did you dip it in Crisco?
Love, Mom
P.S. Ha-ha-ha-ha
