There are alot of pictures in this blog, but you'll have to get thru my ramblings...
I have alot to say and not really sure where to begin... let's start back on Thursday...
So first off, I have a little: "MOM'S BRAGGING MOMENTS", I got a text from Jade while at school, and it said "mom, I think you're going to be proud of me", so of course I'm excited.
When Jade got home, she said she was talking with a group of her friends, they were all just hanging out, and one of her friends said that her brother wanted her to watch a really disgusting movie, one full of murder and torture. Anyway her friend didn't' know if she should watch it or not.
So my amazing daughter said she prayed right there for God to give her the words to talk to her friend... and people this is what she said word for word cause she sent it in a text and she showed me when she got home... here's her sweet face for you to gaze upon while you read what she said...
"I don't know if you know, but I am a Christian. I truly believe in God and Jesus and God's Holy Word- the Bible. From what God told me, you shouldn't soil yourself with ugly thoughts and images willingly. He wants us to be as pure as we can and live by His commandments. See, if you watch that movie, or anything like it, it will scar us and hurt us. I'm telling you this because I care about you and your salvation. I don't want you to go to hell. God and I love you too much not to tell you the truth." I was shocked! Most adults, I think, would have a hard time speaking that honestly about their faith. Jade's friend said she believed in God but was afraid to tell any body, so they talked a little more about it. Wow, I could have used a friend like Jade when I was in high school.
Jade also said that she had another conversation in another class with some kids, and one of them said they didn't believe in God, and the whole group got quiet. And Jade felt she HAD to say something. So Jade said something I thought was cool, she said "can you prove there is no God?" And the kid said, "ya, God has never talked to me" and Jade said "God HAS talked to us, thru the Bible" wow again I say!!
Ok, I told you this was a mom bragging moment, but Jade said there was one more conversation she had at school. Some kid said we all evolved from monkeys, and my brave bold girl spoke up again. She said no we didn't. And the kid asked how did we then, so Jade took him thru Genesis of how God created man from the dust of the ground, and how Eve was created from Adam's rib.
So that was Thursday... now onto Friday. The kids got their report cards. And Kent got straight A's. Actually he got 4 A's and 2 A-'s. But I told the kids if they got straight A's, I'd pay them $50, so Kent is about to collect!
But if they don't get straight A's then it's $5 an A. Jade got 2 A's and a C+ (lame) and we're still waiting for her off-campus grades. Which we are pretty sure are 2 more A's and a B. So she's in for a little extra cash, too!
Also Friday, I went to my first women's bible study, and you guessed it- it was amazing. I just want to make one point that I learned that really hit home, when we think of all the people who have wronged us in our lives, you have hurt us, who don't care, or even realize it, and dealing with the frustration of never really getting closure, or that the other person will never really get how they have hurt us... well God gets it, He understands, He knows. I almost started crying when the lady said that... anyway...
Onto SATURDAY!!! Jeromy and Kent were going to a "Men's Breakfast" at church. Here they are getting ready to leave this morning....
And this is right after Jeromy tried to kiss Kenton on his cheek, he likes to freak Kent out...
So with the guys gone, what are Jade and I going to do???
Mother/Daughter Time!!!!
So Jade and I started out our morning by working out, how cool is that?? Jade on the elliptical and myself on the treadmil, I am now up to 3.5 miles.... burned 608 calories WOO HOO!!
Then we ran a couple of errands. Jade wrote her FIRST check at Target and bought herself a pair of sunglasses... and scotch tape.... LOL....
Miss Hollywood...

Then we got our coffee & hot chocolate....

Jade and I had planned to go to a park in town and take a nature walk. And what a beautiful day for it! I told Jade for the last couple of days that we would be spending Saturday morning together while the guys were out, and she was so excited about it. Just the 2 of us, walking around the water front and she was excited about that! I am so blessed!! And we're off!!!

Look at God's beautiful creation...

And just some fun pictures we took... I love drift wood...

A little video...
The park had this old piece of equipment that cut logs or something, and Jade was pretending she was getting sucked in....

So we had a great morning. So then this afternoon, we went to visit Jeromy's step-mom in the hospital again, she had some kind of complication, but as I write this she has already been discharged so the final stress test must have been ok.
Then Jeromy and I had a little Out Back for a late lunch.
Now back home, it was time to cut Kent's hair... really really badly... we just got these clippers, and I was just so tired so Jeromy said he's attempt it... after reading the little book on tips, he is ready to make the first cut...
And then Jeromy starts having some fun....

That boy has alot of hair...
That's better, such CUTE guys!!!
Then we had family devotional time, were we all got together and read some verses out of Psalms in the Bible and we all talked about which verses spoke to us and how we can apply them. Jade and Kent have alot of great things to say!
Cousin Kristi.... I have been meaning to get these out to you, to help encourage you...
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7
though he stumbles, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.
Psalms 37:24
Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end.
Isaiah 60:20
Love you all!
