Today Jeromy left early for church because the other Jeremy who usually does set up was camping this weekend, and so my Jeromy was asked if he would come in early to help set up chairs and the sound system. Of course he would!
After church- great sermon by the way about how how husbands love their wives, wives are to honor their husbands, children obey their parents... it's amazing how much heartache could be avoided if these basic biblical principles were followed...
Anyway, after church like I was saying, us girls- Jade, Aurora and myself headed out to conquer Costco... I thought the battle was already a lost when I realized I forgot my Costco card. But we did well, I can't believe how short the lines were, we were in and out of there in less than an hour!
Jeromy met us back home- he stayed late at church to also help tare down equipment. Then all 4 of us went to the YMCA. Jade and I ran, Aurora and Jeromy went swimming.
After that we all went to the movies. Jeromy and I saw Transformers. Jade and Aurora saw Cars 2. Think I would have enjoyed watching Cars 2 better- guess cause I'm not a guy- couldn't really get into the transformer things. I mean the special effects were pretty amazing, but after about 20 minutes you're just seeing the same thing over and over again. And hearing grown men yell out "Over here Optimus Prime!" Makes me think when my brother was a little kid playing transformers and teasing him LOL
Anyway, I bet you're wondering what Kent is seeing today in Athens, Greece! Ok, so according to his itinerary, he is having a guided orientation taking in such sights as the majestic Acropolis, and also the Parthenon which "symbolizes the glory of ancient Greece".
So I googled some pictures of those places. Here's the view of Acropolis (doesn't it just sound like a name out of a fairy tale?)...
And here's the Parthenon...
And a close up... Kent must be loving all this... hope he's taking pictures...
Then the kids took a walk with their delegation manager in the old part of Athens- Plaka... here's some pictures of Plaka...

Then the kids got some time to relax and do their own thing. The delegations leaders told us that before they left there would be times when the kids could stay in groups of 2-4 and walk around the open city areas. So I think that's what that means to have time to relax.
Then after that, on their itinerary they were going to learn the first steps of the most popular Greek dances at the public school of Zografou. Then kids will enjoy a traditional folkloric dance show by professional dancers. Then the kids get the opportunity to join in the dance at the end.
I hope Kent has the nerve to get out their and dance!
Sooooo, back over here state side, we had spaghetti for dinner.... wonder what Kent had for dinner... tho he's probably sleeping right now!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I love that you're putting pictures in your blog of where Kent is on his trip - it sorta makes one feel like they're going along with him.
This photos are amazing! So happy for Kent's opportunity!
