Super cute!!!

We finally got Kent's school pictures back. They don't really have much of a selection with the school pictures. They don't have the mini wallets, and there most popular package has no 3X5's which is what I like to have at work, should have just went to JCPenney's like we did with Aurora.

But he's still super cute!
Now I just have to schedule Jade's senior pictures to be taken. But I think we may be waiting until the beginning of next year.
I am freezing!

Happy 67th Birthday Dad!

But before we get to the birthday, I have a few pictures of all the yard work Jeromy and the kids did yesterday. Jeromy has been doing some major weeding and really cleaning the place up... I really want to help, but that's not really the kind of work I like to do cause there's bugs involved. But I did laundry and made dinner, and ran 3 miles!

Look how nice this looks, I wish I had some before pictures...Here's Kent and Jade picking up all the piles of weeds that Jeromy picked, they picked up piles all over the house... (can you tell this picture was taken with me inside the house looking thru the window. hahaha)
So this Tuesday is my dad's 67th birthday, and I was trying to think of what we could do, considering ALL of us have different schedules... so we thought we could have dad over for dinner tonight to celebrate his birthday.

Then, I had another GREAT idea: Jade still needed to make one of her dinner's for her Food Science class, so I thought she could make a special dinner for grandpa! I love my great ideas!

Anyway, Jade found a delicious recipe online and with a little tweaking it is now named: "Jade's Mexican Surprise"!!

Here she is with the recipe and the chicken, grandma and grandpa were coming over at 5 for dinner so she got started about 4pm...Here's a little video of her preparing it...

MMMMMmmmm, looks yummy, and it smelled even better while it was cooking...
While dinner was cooking, grandpa and grandpa came, so we took a little walk outside, it was such a nice day...
When we came in, Jade and I shredded the chicken, and then it was time to eat...

Jade Lorraine and Cynthia Lorraine...
After dinner, we visited for a bit to let our stomach's settle before CAKE!!!
My mom said she was enjoying the music, we were listening to the best of the 60's and 70's...
I think we were all ready for some cake...

HAPPY 67TH BIRTHDAY DAD!!
I told my dad there were only 4 candles on this cake, cause we want him to be ready for when he turns 70, cause there WILL be 70 candles, it may take 2 to 3 cakes to get all those candles on it, but we will find a way, happy birthday again!

Hope everyone had a great weekend... can it really almost be October???

Kent's surgery.

OK, here's your *WARNING* right now. Some of these pictures may be TMI (too much information), but nothings sacred here, and Kent doesn't care that I take pictures of everything!
Well, yesterday morning Kent and I headed to the oral surgeon. He was having 2 teeth pulled.
We had to wait out in the waiting room for almost an hour before they were ready for him, did I ever mention I really hate waiting? Anyway, they finally called him back, and they had his 2 teeth pulled in less than 10 minutes. And that was no exaggeration! They said he's a healthy young man, his teeth had no inflammation or anything so it makes the extraction very easy.
So as soon as we got into the car (they had to wheel him out in a wheel chair- that's their procedure) I got the camera out and took a little video. He was a little woozy... I thought he'd like to see how he looked later, and I thought it was funny...

Then when we got home, I took a little video of him trying to eat his yogurt...

Here he is resting... the doctor said that he'd be in and out of sleep as the medication wore off, and also the pain medicine kicking in. Well, Kent didn't sleep at all... I did tho, I just curled up on the end of the couch he was laying on and crashed... my mom has a picture of that in her blog.
But Kent was totally spoiled. He had his yogurt. Then I made him sponge bob macaroni and cheese. He also had some apple sauce, and his ice-cream later!
OK, here's that last warning, this next picture is kinda gross, you can see the empty sockets of where his teeth used to be... so if you're squeamish you might want to scroll over this next picture kinda fast, if not, you can see how crowded his front teeth are and how they have room to spread out with the help of the braces keeping them straight as they spread out...

This next pictures looks kinda sad, he has gauze pads pushed up into the holes to give a little pressure. But the doctor said he really didn't need to do that cause his surgery went so quickly and he had hardly any bleeding...They asked if Kent wanted to keep his teeth and he thought that was pretty cool, so here they are, it's amazing how deep those roots go into the gums. Crazy!Kent had no pain yesterday cause we kept him on the pain killers every 4 hours. And this morning he seems totally fine. He said he still doesn't have any pain, and that's going with out no pain pills over night. So unless he starts feeling sore I think he's done with the pain medicine. I told him he's a super fast healer like his mom!

Now the next big step is getting the braces in....

Preparing for Oral Surgery...

.... for my BABY!!!

Kent is having 2 teeth pulled tomorrow morning in preparation for his braces later this year.
Here he's pointing to the tooth just past his K-9 tooth, he's getting the same one pulled on the other side...

We had to stock up on soft foods for the next few days for Kent, he was happiest about the ice-cream...We also had to get a prescription filled for some heavy pain killers for after the surgery...Poor baby, he's going to be totally spoiled tho. I took tomorrow off so I can baby him all day, we are going to rent movies and just relax all day.

More to come tomorrow...

Another bright and early monday morning....

Except this is Jade's first day of her fall quarter of college at OC!! She has English 101, Keyboarding, Geography, and "the Family"- which is a sociology class. She has a full boat not to mention her math class and her food science class she's taking thru off-campus, she's going to have a busy senior year this year, too exciting!!

So this morning I wanted to make her a special breakfast, and she wanted waffles...

Both kids scored on the waffles...Jeromy was also up early getting some work taken care of, aren't we cute... and tired!!Jade with her school bag I made her....My little girl looks tired, too! But soooo cute! Jeromy has 2 estimates, tomorrow, that are looking like pretty big jobs which is great going into the fall season!

This afternoon Kent has a consultation with the oral surgeon @ 2:30 to find out more about the 2 teeth they have to pull before the braces go in.... busy busy busy!

Have a great Monday and enjoy these last few days of "summer" weather!

If you haven't read my blog in a couple of days, be sure to scroll down to see Aurora and her goat that won 1st place in the Puyallup Fair!!

Here we are again...

This weekend we were having our church fellowship at our house, we usually have it at Laura and Jason's but we have started taking turns. And Saturday was our turn. We were making Jeromy's family recipe for meatballs with the secret sauce of (believe it or not) chili sauce and grape jelly, and it is soo good!

Then we were playing Bible Trivia, I'm not very good cause my memory is bad and I'm still learning stories of the Bible, but our team still won. At one point we didn't know the answer, and we called Kent from the other room to help us with the answer and he was right, we need Jeromy to make him a shirt that says "secret weapon" we were cracking up over that one!

A cute one of Jade and I...Other news one of our other chickens are laying now. We are getting alot of eggs. About 2-4 a day. And how do we know one a new chicken started laying you may ask? Cause it's a new color egg... green! Jeromy is so proud of his chickens...

For Sunday morning I wanted to make us all a yummy breakfast, and everyone loves those Cinnamon strussle muffins....
We also had turkey sausage (so much better for you and yummier and you don't have to worry about biting into a grisly piece of fat like regular sausage!) and fresh from the Ashcraft Farm eggs ( I can't believe I just said that!)......

So the kids and I headed off to church, Jeromy wasn't able to go cause it was his daughter Aurora's last showing of her goat at the Puyallup fair and he wanted to see her and her goat named Dot! Aurora loves animals and her grandma raises goats and one is Aurora's that she's been training... here's Aurora and her sister Blonca....
Here's Aurora with her goat Dot, she is in the group division of 3rd-5th graders. They have to wear white for their uniform when presenting their goats to the judges... isn't she adorable?

They all have to do certain maneuvers for the judges, and they are also judged on the grooming of the animal, and how well they control the animal....
Here's a short video....

There were 7 kids in Aurora's age division, and look who won FIRST PLACE!!! Look at that big blue ribbon, Jeromy was so proud of her and was so glad he was able to be there to see her! We love you Aurora!

Now we are just having movie night with the family and I need to go pop some popcorn! Good night!

Visiting Grandma Shield!!

We hadn't seen Grandma Shield in a while with being so busy with life, but that's not excuse for not making time for the cutest Great-Grandma there is! And as always, she had a fresh pot of coffee brewing when we got there, thanks Grandma!! We all were able to go, Kent had early release today, Jade's starts college next Monday, and Jeromy took the day off. So it was nice that all 4 of us could go and visit! Here's me and grandma...

Here's Jeromy enjoying Grandma's new foot massage thing. I think he liked it...
In other news, my co-worker and I have agreed to do the "Rock and Roll Seattle Half Marathon" next June 26th, 2010. Lots of time to train for it. I'm really excited about it. We have our 10 week training schedule, and we have to be at 3-4 miles running to start that. Regie is already there, and I will get there again. I think cousin Kyle will be doing it, too. And maybe Laura, too! There's lots of time to get ready for it Laura, we gotta do this!
Time to go on my treadmil now. I am at 2 miles right now.
I got this quote from one of the running schedules:
NOW IF YOU ARE GOING TO WIN ANY BATTLE YOU HAVE TO DO ONE THING . YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE MIND RUN THE BODY. NEVER LET THE BODY RUN THE MIND. NEVER LET THE BODY TELL THE MIND WHAT TO DO. THE BODY WILL ALWAYS GIVE UP. IT IS ALWAYS TIRED IN THE MORNING, NOON AND NIGHT. BUT THE BODY IS NEVER TIRED IF THE MIND IS NOT TIRED.
So get out there and run!
( I added that last part!)

Some cool stuff....

Jeromy is looking into hiring someone part time to help him with the Satcahr business when he needs some help. He met this guy thru another guy at church. He seems nice, and he's out on a job with Jeromy right now at Bainbridge Island. Hopefully this works out!

Here's another cool house picture... any takers, know of any takers?? Well, we found out that house that we really liked sold to someone else, I'm really bummed, but I know God has something for us, we just have to be patient. That house was pretty cool tho...

After Jeromy and James (his employee) left this morning, I thought Jade and I needed to get out of the house and buy our selves a new pair of earrings. That's always fun. We also stopped at JCPenney's and picked up Aurora's school pictures.... her mom gets some taken but we only get a wallet, so starting last year we just take her school pictures ourselves. Then I can have an 8x10 of all 3 kids... isn't she beautiful???I just picked up Kent from school and he informed me that the first Honor Society meeting is today @ 2:45, and he wants to go. He's so pro-active! He was in Honor's Society last year, too, and he really enjoyed it. He also informed me that he was interested in going abroad to be an exchange student for a year in another country... I told him:

NO WAY!!!

Just wanted to be clear. Don't worry mom, I'm not letting my baby go. He understands, but is bummed.

Just waiting on Kent's school pictures to come home, and then I need to set up an appt some time in the near future to have Jade's SENIOR PICTURES taken!

Have a great day out there, I'm not really ready for summer to be over, but it is kinda nice seeing the windy trees and leaves blowing everywhere, and some of the trees are already turning the beautiful fall colors that they do!

Monday blues...

Or should I say gray.... skies.... lame.

Anyway, I woke up early with Jeromy and Kent this morning. Jeromy signed up for a 2 day Quickbooks class. He would be leaving the same time as Kent does for school so he would take him. So I made the guys a big breakfast of ham and onions with scrambled eggs and toast...

More cleaning... The Realtor wanted to do a tour with all her agent friends today between 10am and noon, and we needed to be gone. So Jade and I ran some errands. Got a prescription filled. Ran to the bank, got gas, did a return, got some misc. stuff at Target, and then we also finished up Jade's birthday shopping spree... they had these cool tanks, cami's and t-shirts at Costco ( I got some too!) and Jade also got some socks and underwear, but she didn't want that pictured.... ok.Here some more "clean" house pictures... we tore down both craft tables in here to make the room look bigger...See how empty my refrigerator looks with only a couple pictures on it? Lots of stuff packed up for later use...

And the out side, it's deceiving how big the house is cause so many trees block the front of the house...Some other potential good news, the other house we made an offer on called our realtor with a couple of questions. I think that's good news, they could have just NOT responded, or said no- cause they are dealing with other people making offers. But they responded with some questions about our offer.... could be good news...
