I'm glad it's Friday... just sayin'....

Been standing-in as supervisor this week, and it's been going pretty well for the most part. Just had an issue with an employee last night.... tired of even talking about it. But he's been disrespectful, refusing to do his job, calling me pushy- and this is a guy a get along great with when I'm just a mechanic. Anyway, it had been getting progressively worse during the week, so I tried to have a talk with him last night.

"Tried" talking that is because he knew I was getting tired of it and as soon as I pulled him into the office to talk, he held up his hands and said I want a union steward to talk to you and walked out.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I couldn't believe it- after all I've done for this guy over the years. Anyway, the general foreman came up and gave me some "coaching" on the situation then talked to the employee and told him he can't just walk away from me when I'm talking to him saying he wants a union steward when it has nothing to do with disciplinary action.

Ahhhhhhh- this is why I don't want to deal with the supervisor stuff. And this is just low level stuff- it gets worse! I was joking around with the general foreman saying I just want to be home hanging out with my kids and family not dealing with employees that need a mother.

Anyways just venting. Glad it's Friday, just sayin'.....
