Mother's Day Weekend and other fun things!

OK, let's see... some misc stuff to start with... so Jade and Kent's paternal grandma Claire is in California with her dad visiting, she sent the kids a post card so I thought it would be nice for them to write her a letter. And this is Kent's letter, he made his hands into a heart and drew it out on the letter, his drawing class sure has helped out his skill. Is that not the cutest/sweetest thing you've ever seen a 16 year old boy do??? Adorable!!! Also on Saturday, I did my 6 miles of running!!! I felt pretty good thru out the run of 72 minutes but it gets boring. Here's 2 miles into it...

And 6 miles w00-hoo!!! There's Aurora behind me on the computer...

So today after church we headed over to Grandma Shield's house to visit with all the women folk in our family (a big chunk of them anyway- and a few men thrown in, too).

We had gotten Grandma Cindy a little present. Jade picked it out cause she knows her Grandma so well. When Jade pointed it out to me, I was like what??? But Jade said Grandma would love it and she was right! It's an "Angry Birds" shirt...

Apparently Grandma knows who each bird is... go ahead and listen...

Grandma Cindy also made an angel food cake- Great-Grandma Shield's favorite, and Auntie Mary made a delicious pound cake...

Here's me and my cousin Joe who reminds me more and more of my brother Nick so I got a picture next to him cause who knows when I'll ever see Nick again- I'm not bitter... no, really I'm NOT...

Look at these cute girls... Jade, Madison and Hannah- even though technically Jade's an adult... this is what I think Hannah is thinking "you can make me sit here, but you can't make me smile"...

So now back at home, here's some flowers my sweet son got me... from the back yard. I shoulda got a picture as soon as he picked them, they are kinda droopy here...

And cards from Jeromy, Jade and Kent. And a drawn picture from Aurora, and a book I had been asking for. I have a running list of books I want to get, and he surprised me and got one!

And this cute little magnet, too...

Next Jeromy is showing off his new mag-lite he got. And also a mini mag-lite. I made him this really cool little belt loop- made with love in every stitch- at work. He's holding up one mini mag-lite in the store bought holder with a thumbs down, and in his other hand he's holding the other mini mag-lite in the holder I made with a thumbs up... isn't he the cutest???

And then the big mag-lite holder with the large ring... it turned out pretty cool... again- what a cutie-pie!!!!!

OK, this picture needs a little explaining... you see both windows to the right and left? Well, in the middle there are two different flashlight beams on the wall. The one on the left is his current flash light, and the beam on the right is his NEW mag-lite! He needs that light when looking for nasty critters at his job as a pest control operator.
