Loving this weather...

The kids got their school pictures in yesterday. Love getting pictures! Here's Kenton, the 9th grade Freshman....And sweet Jade, my 11th grade junior....We ran some errands today, and when we got home, Jeromy started making french toast for lunch, yum!Now Kent is working on his Japanese homework...Here's a close-up of that assignment... looks Greek to me :o)My lawn chair is calling me once again, and I must answer the call.....

I guess the sun is calling Jeromy outdoors, too, to do some yard work... I don't know about that hat tho....lol, but Grandpa Lee and Jade have matching hats. It's a conspiracy to make me go country, but it won't happen!!

Looking good for a monday...

Weather forecasters said up to 80' today, and I think that is just FABULOUS!!!

The kids each had their weekly meeting with the off-campus (homeschooling) consultant this morning. All is well.

And then I got to soak up some rays.... at the end of September! I LOVE it!! I sat right in that chair, smiling the whole time...Just came in and had a snack... and those strawberries taste just as good as they look...Time to start getting ready for work....

Potato gun... Birthdays... Scrapbooking

What a combo!

First, here are the pictures from last nights potato gun fun... safety first....
Jeromy let each kid try cutting some wood for some part of the gun....There was some gluing involved...And here's the finished potato gun...
When they were all done last night, they called me out to take a look, it was so funny cause they had it all propped up, and covered by a blanket except for the very end. They shot out several potatoes from the back deck, and some of them hit all the way into the pond in the pack yard. I thought that was pretty cool. Jeromy was a little disappointed in how far it went. He's already re-thinking a new strategy.

So today we were celebrating my dad's 66th birthday. He officially turns 66 tomorrow, but with the kids in school, him working days, and me nights, we thought we should take him out to dinner tonight! We went to Famous Dave's BBQ again- it is soo good! Here's the group... (can you guess what the shiniest spot on the pictures is? You guessed it.. MY FOREHEAD!! Grrrr!)We did the trash can lid dinner for all again.... look at all that good stuff....Mom and dad again...I think we made a dent...HAPPY 66th BIRTHDAY DAD!!

So in between corn mazes, potato guns & birthdays, I've been fighting a cold. And the best medicine for that is SCRAPBOOKING! I've been working alot on my pages and am almost caught up. I thought you might want to see how they're coming along! Here's when I went to Florida to see Savannah and Violet--- and Misty and Nick, too!!

Here's Kelsey's "BIRTH" day page....And here's Jade's first day back to school page. For all of you who scrapbook, they have the coolest stuff at the "Scrapbook Zone" They have paper and stuff for just about every local high school. Look how cool that looks.... It was almost hard to buy it though, cause I went to Olympic, I wanted to buy the blue Olympic Trojan stuff! Here's a cute page of Jeromy and his daughter....And then Hannah's "BIRTH" day page.....So much cute stuff! I finished about 20 pages but figured this was enough to give you an idea. We rented a movie tonight to watch with the family, so we're getting ready to do that. Have a good night.

Corn Maze

Jeromy was looking online for something for us to do, and he came across corn mazes, and we conveniently have one in bremerton! Here we go.... here's the kiddos...I think Kent found a friend...Off they go...."Hey, I think we're alone now, there doesn't seem to be anyone around", ya, I'm a child of the 80/90's....

After that we were hungry, and Famous Dave's BBQ sounded great.... Kent can eat some ribs... I think he got more food than anybody else...Can Jade get any cuter? She seems to be doing it everyday...So, then we came home, and I wanted to SCRAPBOOK! Jeromy is so sweet, he came with me to get my pictures from Walgreens, and to the Scrapbook Zone, he even cut out some letters for me on their paper cutter, while I shopped. I spent over $70 at the Scrapbook zone, I don't think I've spent that much before, at one time. And the pictures were $15 dollars for over 130 I got for the last few months that I needed (Mom, walgreens is having a sale for 10 cents a print with the code word "DIME")And here I am organizing the pictures with the coordinating paper/stickers before I start scrap booking my heart out!Jeromy went back online to look some other experiments/things to do, for him and the kids. He cracks me up, he came down stairs with some blue prints on making a potato gun (are those even legal??), and headed out to Home Depot for supplies LOL. But you'll have to wait for those pictures until tomorrow.

Have a good night!

Having fun

Since I am working nights, and Jeromy gets bored easily and likes to stay busy... it's a win-win for the kids!

Last night when I got home from work and everyone was asleep, I walked into the house and saw this face staring back at me...Jeromy had told me earlier that they were going to make paper mache masks. I love art & craft stuff so I thought it was cool. Jeromy took some pictures of their art stuff last night. Here's Jade creating her face on a bowl surface....
And Kent wanted his face to be the template! Kinda creepy looking but he was having fun...Here they are hard at work, actually Kent's just leaning back and letting the mask dry on his face...Here's a close up of Kent, he wanted a beak on his face... kinda creepy LOLSo that was their fun adventure last night.

This morning we all got up, Jeromy headed out to Bain Bridge Island for a job. The kids had a non-student day at school, so we headed over to my mom's cause she was having craft day...

But we also knew Misty was coming over with baby Kelsey! Isn't she CUTE!!!Grandma Cindy got her first....The great-grandma Shield got her.. look at those cute little tights..And then I got to hold her! She is so darn cute! Misty also came with recent pictures of the baby that we got to have!! Woo-hoo!

And now I am home and getting ready for work... they were giving away some memorabilia from work, some old pictures and stuff, so I grabbed this one. It's kinda cool, looking down into the dry dock in the shipyard. Pretty impressive looking, and to know I work inside, on top, and under neath those subs. Well, I guess some body's got to do it.

Have a great Friday, I hear our weather is supposed to perk up here for a few days!

family stuff

When Kent got home from school (3 classes -and it's early release Thursday), I thought I'd make him and Jeromy grilled (soy) pepper jack cheese and ham sandwiches. Yummy!Kent gives me the thumbs up with his one and a half sandwiches and salad.... I started making one and a half sandwiches when we have that cause he's growing so much. He's 5'7 now! Officially taller than me :o(Jeromy likes his with soup....We also have good news, one of the tenants moved out of Jeromy's duplex, and they actually left it in good condition. We were so happy, we thanked Jesus AGAIN for answering our prayers. Now just one tenant to go. So after lunch, Jeromy and Kent went to the duplex to do some cleaning of the unit, put the for rent sign up, and other misc stuff. Then, he took Kent to that go-kart racing place in Bremerton. He said Kent was pretty excited! And my amazing husband had his camera with him, I'm so proud of him! He had the guy there take a picture of him and Kenton! So while they were gone, guess what I did... you'll never believe it... I got to take a NAP!!! I was so happy... to take a NAP!!! WOO-HOO!

Then it was time to get Jade from school, she was having her friend Katie come over for a while...Sometimes I see that bright eyed beautiful little girl in Jade in some of her expressions, this is one of them! All the other times she's just straight beautiful! I LOVE that face!

Jade, Katie and another friend are contemplating going to the Homecoming dance this Oct. We'll see what they plan. Here's a picture from last year's Homecoming 2007 dance, when Jade went with 3 other friends...Well, now time to get ready or work. Have a great night!
