Metal mouth....

Brace Face...

Mouth Bling...

or BRACES!!!

Jade got her braces put on this morning.

Super cute. She chose her favorite colors for rubber bands: green and yellow... I tried to talk her out of those colors but it's her mouth!
Here's both my kids' metal mouths! So cute! And shiny!
Iana has been over for the last 2 days. Such a cutie, I get the best hugs from her!
Time to get on the treadmil, I know, I've been pretty quiet about treadmil talk... I might have to oil the machine and get it back into action. I need to start running again!

Super Family Saturday!

Jeromy and I have planning all week to make this saturday for family only. We are so busy with work, school, holiday parties, activities, kids registering for next quarter, setting up orthodontist appt., regular dental check up, training for work... I could go on and on but I think you get the point. Soooooo, we were dedicated to making this saturday just a day to relax and fun with just the 5 of us.
Jeromy got Aurora this morning, here she is putting her special ornaments on the tree made by Grandma Cindy- who's also making that cool Christmas stocking.
Can you tell this daddy loves his girl or what???We then went out to lunch at Fiesta- love Mexican dontcha know!
Then we ran to Costco and Target to get some things we needed. We got a new dice game, and a puzzle of "The last supper". A couple of new movies...And the new Josh Grobin Christmas CD, he has an amazing voice...
I wanted do something fun and creative today, and it turns out that none of the kids had ever made a ginger bread house before. I knew Costco had a bajillion on display, so we went. Can you believe they only had 5 left??? So we grabbed 2.
Got the houses out- they were actually already partially assembles. We decided next year we would get graham crackers and real frosting and some candies to make our own. But this was a good first try for us. Kent and I putting one of the trees together with the glue/frosting..All 3 of them hard at work being amazingly creative. Aurora said she likes the "details" of things...Jade and Aurora....One of our trees. There was even shredded coconut to look like snow...Jade's house...

Sometimes less isn't more.... ok... maybe it is in this case LOL --don't judge me!I almost had to force Jeromy to decorate with us. But once he started, he was getting creative. Mixing the white and green frosting to make a light green cause he said he didn't have enough colors. I'm lucky I even got him to smile in this picture. Here's the kids with their master pieces...A close up of Aurora's cool house- look at all that snow!

Crazy HAIL Storm!!!

The kids and I witnessed a crazy hail storm yesterday afternoon, after waking up to some intense thunder and lightening.... enjoy the video....

Also stopped by my parents house. I asked my mom if she could make Aurora a simple quilted Christmas stocking made with love in every stitch and she said YES!! Thanks mom I can't wait to see it! We also got a healthy taste testing of cookies! And then dad went and got teriyaki chicken - thanks dad!

Now we are home, the kids are doing their chores and I'm getting ready for work. Later!

Just sayin'............

JUST SAYIN' .... THAT'S A PRETTY TREE!!! (Tho I do notice that I need more lights towards the bottom... not evenly spaced, maybe next year!)
Also wanted to mention that Monday was my sister Misty's birthday. Now we are both 35 for about a month and a half... remember.... that's 35! Here's Misty with her boys....We all had our 6 month dental cleaning/check-up today. And I'm happy to report that all 4 of us had no cavities. They did say that I had a small area that may cause problems later on, but for now I am cavity free.

That's about all for now.

First weekend in December

Saturday we had Jeromy's mom's memorial service, held at Jeromy's grandpa's church's banquet hall... that was a mouth full.

The place was packed. Jeromy's mom, Teresa, had a ton of family and friends. It was a very nice service. Jeromy gave an opening prayer and a closing prayer. He also spoke half way thru, with his brother and aunt. Jeromy was able to talk about the love of Jesus, and how none of us never know when out last heart beat will be, and to not waste time and to love each other with the time we have.

Jeromy's mom loved to sing and did alot of karaoke thru out the years. While cleaning out her apartment, they came across CD of some of her songs. Jeromy made mass copies and they were played thru out the ceremony. One song Teresa sang was picked by her sister Tammy, and she sang along with her sister in the song. There were some tears while she did that.
Jeromy and his uncle setting up. I wasn't sure if a camera was appropriate in this kind of setting. But everyone else had their cameras out, so I got mine out of the car.
It wasn't our weekend to have Aurora, but her mom let us have her for the day to be a part of the memorial. Our 3 kids...Poor Kent... it was finals week ya know. But he's always tired- just like his mom! After the memorial, we dropped off Aurora, then I dropped off Jeromy and the kids, then I went to my friends house, who is also named Teresa. It's her son, Trevor's, 3rd birthday party. It seems we only see each once a year at his birthdays. It's been that way for the last 3 years anyway. Here's her son Trevor... he moved so fast I barely could get a picture of him, at one point he came up to me and said "cheese" it was perfect but I wasn't ready for it. So I just snapped the picture regardless of what setting it was on and it turned out kinda blurry oh well!

I think alot of the adults were having a second childhood putting his new toys together. My old high school friend (junior high, too!) Teresa and my self... our 20 year reunion is in 2 and a half years...Last Friday night, we also put up our tree. I took Jade and Kent's special ornaments out so they could put those on the tree. Aurora has 3 special ornaments made by Grandma Cindy that she can put on when she comes over this next weekend.Jeromy and the kids each putting on an ornament. Jeromy was happy in this picture, I think he just thinks he has to look grumpy... I don't know....So cute...Ooohhhh pretty tree...More decor....Those lights above the mantle look like they are on fire..... ooohhhhhh ahhhhhhI've had those 2 snowflake tea candle holders for a few years now. I got the 3 ice cube tea light holders this year. It looks cool when they are lit. The ice cube ones have a frosted exterior. You can't have too many candles right???I just thought this was cute. Jade and Kent have one more day of school then they are off till January. So Jade was about to throw away all her note taking cards for one of her classes. Look at all her industriousness (is that a word? if it is- did I spell it right??).That is all. Hugs those who you love if they are close. We really don't know how much time we have- make it count. Not just during the season but all year round! Woo-hoo!

Jeromy's mom

Jeromy is making the urn for his mom's ashes. He bought some beautiful oak wood. He looked online for different ideas, and here's what he came up with...
If Jeromy had more time he wanted to add some green stained glass cause he knows how to do that, too, and green was her favorite color. But he doesn't have the time to add it. But it's still beautiful.
Some extra sanding...
On another note... look who's getting braces finally... after all these years... 18 year old Jade...
A picture of Kent just because he's cute....

Good night.
