Too much cuteness....

Last night Jeromy went to Aurora's school concert in Tacoma. I felt bad cause he had to go alone, I was at work, and when he got off work, he didn't have enough time to back track and get Jade and Kent to get to Tacoma on time.

Well, he is so glad he went. Some of the kids had solos during the concert. And he was wishing Aurora had a solo, too. Well, I guess it was about over, and then the instructor said "where is Aurora?" Jeromy couldn't believe it, he had already turned off his video camera so he got it back out and was able to video tape her. She is absolutely adorable! She's a pretty quiet kid, which I guess can be mistaken for shyness, but she is not shy, and she has a strong voice. Jeromy said he almost teared up listening to her... well, this first video is a couple minutes long. It's so sweet, it starts with Aurora singing in the middle of the audience walking up the stairs to the stage and then all the other kids walking along side of her. She's singing the whole time with her own little microphone...

(Ok, this is where the video would be if it was working...this is a real bummer, but I have tried several times over the last couple of days to down load this darn video and it won't do it. You'll just have to know it was adorable. But hopefully the shorter one below works!)

Jeromy found out after the performance that alot of kids tried out for this solo, and they picked Aurora only a couple of days before the performance!

This next video is only about 20 seconds long, but you see Aurora looking right into Jeromy's video camera, you know she's looking at her daddy, and she smiles while she's singing and that little dimple comes out! He was so proud of her!

He said when the concert was over that she ran up to him and hugged him! Jeromy got a couple pictures of Aurora and her little sister Blonca...

Jeromy was funny, he said he never liked that song- but not anymore. Not after his baby sang it the way she did! I just wish we all could have been there to see her in person, but the videos are pretty sweet!

Gearing up for this half marathon in June...

The 10 week training schedule suggests that you be running comfortably for 30 minutes for 4-6 weeks before starting the 10 week training count down for the half marathon. I think I am there.

I was really wanting to increase my speed gradually, but I think I just run the most comfortable at a 12 minute mile. During races we tend to naturally go faster cause of all the adrenaline and excitement of the run. But just for everyday training I think I'm going to stick with a 12 minute mile, it's very comfortable.

So today, I did 2.75 miles at the 5.0 mph which is the 12 minute mile, and that took 33 minutes.

In a few more "sessions" I'll get back up to 3 miles.

Why do I tell you all this you ask? Well, actually this is kinda of a way for me to stay accountable for my training and to get excited about the...

Could this breakfast be any healthier??

Ok, I'm sure it could, but this is pretty good!

One of the recipes Jade made a while back for her food science class was this yummy oatmeal waffle recipe. We all loved them except Jade cause they had bananas in them- and she hates bananas!
So I have been wanting to make them for a while now, and Jeromy has been wanting to eat them for a while as well!
I got up early this morning to take Jade and Kent to school.
Got a load of laundry going and then started breakfast.
This breakfast is so healthy, the batter is 100% whole oatmeal, a banana, small amount of milk, water, salt and olive oil, and that's it! I have to confess... we've had that cookbook for I don't know how long... I thought I'd look in the front cover to see which kid it belonged to, or how old it is... and Misty.... it said Denny Lee Q. on the front inside cover, and it said he was one year old.... OH MY GOSH, how long have I had this book??? I don't even know, you must of lent it to us a long time ago... and I forgot, so I gotta get it back to you cause I know Mason loves to cook, and for Kelsey, too! Ummm, it has a really yummy oatmeal recipe in it LOL!

The other thing I like about it, is that all the ingredients go in a blender and get mixed up and then you have the perfect container to pour into the waffle iron!Jeromy has also switched to 100% maple syrup, cause we heard that corn syrup can be really hard on the stomach, and he doesn't need that. Plus it's just more natural and healthier and he likes the taste better! Look at that yummy oatmeal banana waffle... this is also one of those foods that make the whole house smell so good!Is your mouth watering yet??There's one happy camper....We also had a couple Trig kids over who said they tasted really yummy!Well, that's all for breakfast!

Going to finish up the laundry and actually get it all folded and put away! We'll see how that goes!!

Senior Pictures....

I'm wanting to get Jade's senior pictures taken in the next month or two.... so today we went shopping to try to find a couple outfits that we both loved. This is hard to do.... it's gotta be just right ya know??

So off to the mall we go.... here's an arm full of stuff she picked out to try on...
Yes, this is nice... but it's missing something...
Jade said she felt like she was ready to head out on a safari wearing this tan shirt... well we didn't know untill she tried it on LOL!!

This green shirt is cute, but too casual I think...This shirt was pretty... but not quite right...Ok, onto the next store... this was cute...She looks good in bright orange, but not sure if it's the right color for senior pictures...I really liked this shirt, it's a little busy, but it was really flattering on her, but Jade didn't absolutely love it, we agreed we both have to love it to get it.... I still think it's really cool tho....She really liked this shirt, and just look at the adorable face! But I think that color washes her out, she needs some color!!!!Ok, onto the third store...We both loved this blue color, but she felt like she could fly away with those sleeves, but if she's posed just right, this color would be great! She also tried on this dress just cause... such a cutie!

So we got the blue shirt, but our mission is not over, we're both just tired! We came home and the guys had made pizza woo-hoo!! We'll have to do more shopping here real soon!

We still need to get Jade's hair cut/layered thing done in the next month.

We're having so much fun planning for her pictures!

But now, I gotta go get ready for work... that's right, on a Saturday!

Running and a PDQ!

I ran 2.5 miles @ 5.6 mph today, I know that's just a warm up for you Kyle!! I need to get back up to 3 miles, but I'm also increasing speed and I guess I can only focus on one thing at a time!

Ok, my PDQ. It's an award PSNS gives out which stands for Puget Demonstrated Quality. Well, my co-worker and I worked on this project for our shop in the shipyard, that is supposed to help standardize all 6 yards in how our shop is run- that's the quick vague answer. So anyway we got a PDQ, they vary from a little flash light, to jackets, to lunch boxes. Just a little "thank you" from the ship yard.

Well, the jackets are usually huge manly carhart jackets. Lame- if you're a girl. It's like "hey great job, here's your man jacket!".

Well, we got jackets, and I guess the shipyard started ordering some super sweet women's jackets. I'm so excited, it's such a cute jacket! Well, I'd take a picture, but I'm all sweaty from running and I need to get ready for work!

Have a great day- hey!- where's the sun?????

Some of this and that....

My birthday flowers are still blooming... SWEET!!!
And it was time to give Kenton his haircut, love that boys hair, but it does grow straight out of his head... here's the before...
And after....
Here's the Jadester doing her homework... just a little over 4 months till graduation ya know!

Here's Jeromy- Mr. Happy-pants!There's Kent again, is he handsome or what??? So cute!We also had little Iana over the other night, she's 6 and so adorable! Here we made some popcorn to watch our movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks"- my brain kinda hurt after watching that.... LOL.... no seriously...Then I had been promising her we'd do a "still life" drawing. Where you take some things around the house, group them together, and then DRAW!!! Working on proportions and stuff. Iana picked out all the stuff we were going to draw...Check out those masterpieces...Ok, that's all, time for bed.... wait... DANGIT.... I just woke up!
