We had a great time with 'Ro' !! She is such a great sweet kid! Just look at that face!!Saturday morning we started off bright and early with our annual summer family pictures! I have been doing this with the kids since they were little, and now that Jeromy and I are married, it's truly a GREAT family picture! Last year was our first family photo, so we're kinda pros now. We all wore green (last year we wore blue), you'll have to wait to see the official pictures when we get them back in 2 weeks but here's a preview... Jeromy and Aurora....
Jade, myself, and Kenton....
And the whole adorable group....
And since our appt at JCPenney's went so smoothly, we had time for a quick bite to eat at the bowling alley, before Laura's baby shower at 1pm... Aurora loves lemonade, but I think this glass was as big as she was...
I didn't really get alot of pictures at Laura's baby shower, you'll have to go check out my mom's awesome blog for those, but I DID get this funny one of Laura ripping into her Hush Baby gift!
Then, unfortunately, I had to go into work, and work a ten hour shift. And my mom mom was nice enough to keep Jade and Aurora so they could stay at the shower and then drop them off for me afterwards... thanks mom!
So, while I was at work (in a building that was 90 degrees,no exaggeration! We have a thermostat in the building and it read 90 for several hours during my shift. Believe me it was MISERABLE! One women almost passed out, the boss had her sit in the office for a while where it was cooler to try to cool down) ok, so while I was at work, Jeromy helped me out by supervising the girls making cupcakes. We had a pot luck to go to Sunday at church, and I had absolutely NO time to make them. But I thought it would be fun for the girls to bake and frost them!
Jade and Aurora didn't quite fill the cups up enough...
Look at this sad little cupcake... Thas is what Aurora thought of it...
But the kids (including Jeromy) taste-tested them and they still were delicious!
That was the end of our Saturday... onto Sunday!
We went to church in the morning and it was great! They had a guest speaker today from Oregon, and I think if he wasn't a preacher, his second career choice would have been as a stand-up comedian.. HE WAS HILARIOUS! He had the whole congregation laughing. He walked up and down the isles while speaking, which really helps keep your focus, and he was just so darn funny! He kept telling stories about life, and he kept apologizing in advance to his wife, who just held her face in her hands shaking her head, she was laughing, too, tho!!
After church, they were having a potluck at a near by park. And it was so nice that the weather wasn't scorching! But during the service, we left the cupcakes in the car, and it was kinda warm... woops! Here's Jade and Aurora trying to save the melting frosting from sliding of the cupcakes! Aurora had a small personal fan she was using to keep the cupcakes cool on the way to the park. That was cracking me up!
Here's some pictures at the park... soo much good food!!This is Madison! And she is ADORABLE!! But don't try to hold her she'll scream her head off!!
Here's a quick video of the volley ball game they had going on, I think at the very beginning is Kent trying to hit the ball... and missing...
And another quick video of Aurora and 2 other girls, Hannah and Chrissy....
It was a long day, after the potluck and lots of games. Including the "game" where I went to the bathroom and got in the crossfire of a water war with he kids and got sprayed, I was an innocent bystander, I swear!! Then, we had second service at the park and it was so nice. It a cool change of pace, to have church outside in God's nature setting!
But like I said it was a long night. Afterwards it was after 8pm, and we still had to get Aurora back home in Tacoma! All 3 kids were tired... we stopped for hot chocolates on the way...
And now we are all home. And it's 10pm. I am TIRED!!!!
But tomorrow is another day! And I just thank God I am capable to get up out of bed on my own and feel great, and have the energy to do all the things I need to do for my kids and my family! It's great to be alive... just a little tiring :o) good night!
