Yummy Shake

These shakes are so good! They are my protein shakes I have after I run. I did 5 miles today at the gym sooo I get a delicious shake!

This one has a cup of kefir milk, a scoop of really good protein powder, a small scoop of ground flax seed, a large tsp of local honey, a frozen peach and some frozen raspberries all blended together! It's like delicious nutritious ice-cream!

Extreme close up!

Some more randomness just for you!

First off... look who won 3rd place in her age division of 19 and younger in her very first half marathon!!!

That's right!

JADE!

Isn't that awesome?? What a surprise, we didn't even know till Jade got an email about it and she received a 3rd place ribbon in the mail! Yay Jade!!!

A close up of her ribbon with the date and everything! How cool!

Here's a total Dr. Seuss tree- aren't these colors great?

This is kinda dark, but this tree is going to start turning some amazing colors in the next few weeks! What do you think Sarah??? I'll try to remember to post them over the next few weeks, it usually looks like a waterfall of colors!
Isn't this the cutest little pumpkin? I love pumpkins!

I really love pumpkins! We're not going to carve it tho.... it's just to enjoy for the fall season!

Jade made her delicious cookies again!

Time to go to sleep. Looking forward to going to church tomorrow. I've missed the last few weeks due to working 12's, to running the half marathon and working in the Sunday school with the kids, so looking forward to just sitting in the church and listening to the sermon!

Have a great Sunday tomorrow!

Jade and I got hair cuts!

We had these hair cuts schedules almost 2 months ago, that hair cutting lady is always busy! But she does a great job and she's not that expensive!

Here's Jade's before...

And after... she got bangs, and trimmed up the rest of her hair... so stinking cute...

Now Jade looks like she did when she was 5... see, I can prove it! She didn't' really want to pose for this one, but how cute is she??? At 5 and now at 19- my sweet little girl!

Now here I am before...

And after... I got about 4-5 inches cut off and more layering put in... can you tell??

And then a picture of Jade and Kent together just cause they're soo super cute! You might wonder how I handle being surrounded by all this cuteness... well, let me tell you- it's not easy! There's alot of hugging and kissing going around... and that's just Jeromy and I- LOL I crack my self up!

Have a great Friday out there!

Beautiful...

Summer is my favorite season, but fall is definitely my second favorite.... I LOVE the beautiful fall colors. The trees by the kids' college are just gorgeous! Parts of the ground are just covered in reds, oranges and yellows... feast your eyes on these... you can see the guy blowing the leaves away... but all that is green grass covered by the leaves...
I wish I had gotten these pictures the day before these guys started blowing the leaves away cause the whole parking lot was also covered... so pretty...

Intense beautiful colors...

Wow...

Anybody else have some cool fall pictures out there???

Till next time!

Saturday... my ONE day off!!

Here's what our Saturday looks like...

Here's Kent working on his math... I say "math" but his class is actually called "Pre-calculus and intro to trigonometry"... my little genius!
Here's a close up of Kent's math book... I love math but this stuff gives me a headache...

Love this Japanese Maple in the front yard. This picture doesn't do it justice. It is a fiery orange that just pops out against all the green... so pretty...

We were having our Family Fellowship tonight with friends from church. I missed the last one cause I had to work, but I had off Saturday, and it was at our house so I'm glad I could be there! The theme was Mexican. Jade was making spicy turkey wraps and I was making the sides to make a taco salad...Yummy food... there's Jade cooking away...Jade made chocolate chip cookies and they were soooo goooood, Jeromy and I had "a few" even before people showed up...

Jade made her spicy ground turkey wraps! Here's the mixture... ground turkey, a shredded onion, tons of spicy spices, and brown rice all mixed together... sooo good...

Then she spreads it into the tortillas and sprinkles with cheese (of course some made with out cheese for Jade and Jeromy) then rolls them up and cut in half... they all were eaten...
Jeromy loves the kiddos... he even went out and bought special toys for them to play with cause we don't really have any little kid toys. I secretly think he just wanted to play with the Lincoln logs himself, and to built with the foam blocks!

Love these people... This video is funny. At one point the little boy Liam, who is 2, got hurt and started crying, which made his little 8 month old brother Ewan start crying, which made 4 year old Hannah start crying... then Maranda- who's an adult had to joint the crying... too funny!

Now onto Sunday. We are heading into church. Jeromy and I are teaching the 6-8 year olds in Sunday school. Jade assists with the 3-5 year olds in Sunday school and Kent makes the recorded copies for the teachers (us) who miss the service- we are all working today!

Then I'm going to try to squeeze in a nap this afternoon before I work a 12 hour shift. Have a great fall day!

It's our Wedding Anniversary!!!

Today Jeromy and I have been married for 4 years!!! Woo-hoo!!! And we both have the day off from work! (Yes- we planned it that way!!!)

Here we are 4 years ago when we got married...

And all us and the kids... back when Jade and I were still taller than Kent... he's getting so big...

Here we are at our ONE year anniversary... we took this picture by the water on the dock... it's the same place Jeromy proposed... so far we've had this picture taken every year on our anniversary...

And here's today on the same dock, we're so romantical!

FOUR YEARS AND GOING STRONG

GOD WILLING!!!

I started out the morning with dropping the kids off at college, then headed over to Jeannie's house for our Thursday morning women's Bible study time. Sooo awesome! It's a 10 week study on the life of David. There's a weekly video we all watch together by Beth Moore- she's amazing, then we have 5 days of "homework" we do during the weekday for our own reflection and learning.

Next on the agenda: our church has ordered 1000 of these "180 The Movie" movies. And we went and passed them out to high school students. We were passing them out free. The movie is only 33 minutes long but can change your life. It talks about Hitler and the holocaust and how that relates to abortion. You can look at it online for free at 180movie.com. Check it out! Jeromy is like a walking advertisement with his hat and shirt... cutie-pie!

And now.... what I have been waiting for all day! Our Japanese Steak House dinner at Fujiyama's!!! Oh my gosh I LOVE that place! It was so good! Every bite melts in my mouth!

For dessert a friend at work told me about this new cupcake store called "Bella Bella Cupcakes" so I thought that would be fun. I got an oreo cookie cupcake and I wasn't very impressed. Too much nasty frosting. Oh well, we tried it.

We wanted to go for a walk after all that delicious food we ate so we went to Barnes and Noble. I got a coffee and don't ask me what was in that bag... people help me stop!!!

Then I also got a running magazine to help get me back on track and motivated for running again after eating all that yummy food today!

What a great day. I sure do love my husband!

Back on...

Well, my last post I wrote about Jade and I doing the Poulsbo Half Marathon on Sunday! And it was awesome! So I took the next 2 days off to "recover", and this being my 3rd half marathon I'm happy to report that I recovered the fasted after this latest one!

I was back at the gym today and ran 5 miles and it felt great! Jade's almost back to 100% also!

Did have to work 12 hour shifts the last 2 days, at least the paycheck will be nice! One of the boats in the yard is having alot of setbacks and it has to get out on time- soooo around the clock coverage till the job is done! I think tonight I only have to work 8's tho, there's trying to spread around the OT.

Have a great day!

What a weekend!

Well, I have worked the last 12 days in a row- and 6 of those days were 12 hour shifts- yuck! So I was glad to have the next 2 days off!

Saturday was Jade and my "REST" day before our half marathon Sunday. And what better way to rest than to watch a teeny tiny baby all day and watch movies! It was great! Jade and I got to watch Laura's new foster daughter. She was only 7 days old. And she was perfect. She hardly ever cried. She just ate, slept, and was really awake and alert a couple of times. I even got a picture of her smiling... I know she's only 7 days old so that smile might just have been on accident but you look at that face... it looks like she was smiling! Jade and I had to take turns holding her cause we both wanted to hold her the whole time. What a wonderful way to relax after working so many days in a row. Hanging out with my family all day, watching movies and snuggling with a sweet tiny baby girl! Thanks Laura, call us anytime... or we'll call you LOL!

Kent even wanted to hold her.
As soon as Jeromy got home from the men's breakfast at church, he sanitized his hands and went straight for the baby. I love that man. I love that he loves babies, too, even tho he won't admit it. Look at his face looking at her..

Jeromy is lucky I am "fixed"... cause I was really feeling the baby urge. But I know my kids are almost grown, and I really don't want to start over, but I love babies!

She looked so peaceful sleeping I had to join her.

Sooo sweet!

CHECK OUT THESE ADORABLE FACES!

Jade and I were cracking up at all the different faces she was making!

Here she's looking up at Jade talking to her. She is the most alert baby! When she was awake!

Love those huge brown eyes! Gorgeous!

A little video...

Sweet baby girl, and sweet baby Jade... then it was time to say goodbye. Laura came to pick up her and brought us cookies, ice cream and coffee for watching her. I told Laura I should of bought her a coffee for letting us watch her it was such a treat.

I LOVE BABIES!!!

Jade and I loading up on carbs for dinner, for our run Sunday! We had pasta, tilapia and corn-yum!

Ok, Sunday morning. Jade and I are ready to do our Half Marathon! We've been training for 12 weeks! This is Jade's 1st half marathon, and my 3rd!!! We were so excited to do this. Mother and daughter! Running for the fun of it! This was the Poulsbo Marathon and Half Marathon and Lutifisk 3K! Get ur UFF-da on!

Jade and I with our numbers. It was so cold, people I mean it was sooooo coooold, we couldn't even take our hands out of our pockets for the picture... Jeromy, Aurora and Kent were there to cheer us on!

And we're off... Jade and I are pretty much in the middle of this pictures... can you see us???

Jeromy is such a great photographer. He drives around trying to find us and snaps pictures while we're in mid-run... he found me...

Jeromy found Jade running, too...

Here's me crossing the finish line. I also PR'ed. When I told my mom, she said "I'm sorry!" But a PR is a good thing! It means Personal Record! My first half was done in 2:29:33, my second half was done in 2:14:58, and today my 3rd half was done in 2:12:08! Almost 3 minutes faster!

Jade crossing the finish line, she really sprinted at the end! Her time was 2:56:43. Great job Jade!!! At the end of the race they had the usual, water, bagels, fruit, but they also had lefsa! YUM!

We had Aurora this weekend, too. Such a cutie... Aurora, too!

Jade and I also got a finishers medal. It's got the goofy fish on it... I've got 4 medals now... just sayin'...

The shirt- again with the goofy fish...

Now we're all just relaxing. I think I took 2 naps today. Jade slept for a while also... good for those muscles to rebuild/repair while we sleep! It's true- I read it in an article! Now I am baking Jeromy healthy carrot muffins, then I'm going to make my stir fry dinners I make for work. Haven't made that stuff in a while due to my crazy work schedule as of late. I think I might be back on 12's next week for a while, but not trying to think about that... just thinking about running with my daughter and holding that sweet little baby!
