Over time... again...

We got a heads up phone call before work yesterday that the "poo-poo" had hit the fan and we were going to have to provide around the clock coverage. So what that means is that I had to work a 12 hours shift last night. And again tonight. And Sunday night. AND MONDAY WHICH IS ALREADY A PAID HOLIDAY!!! LAME!!! We were told this could go into Tuesday, but we'll see...

So I was looking forward to a 3 day weekend, but now I'm going to be working. Well, on the bright side it's going to help pay for Kent's senior year expenses and I'm saving up for Jade to go to a 3 month Nanny school next year in Ohio.

So not much time between working 12 on and 12 off for 3-4 days. But you will be proud to know that I DID go to the YMCA today and ran my 10 MILES according to my training schedule!! No slacking over here! And next Sunday is the official Half Marathon- I think I'm ready!

Gotta go to work now!

Yesterday....

Yesterday the kids both have long days at school. Jade from 9 AM till 4 PM, and Kent 9 AM till 7 PM!!! So I like to break up their day by meeting them for lunch. There classes are different so I have a half hour with Jade, then she goes back to class then Kent comes out for another half hour. So a little one-on-one time with each of them.

So Here I am waiting for Jade to come first. So what should I do while I wait? Maybe record her walking to the car once I spot her? Sure, why not!

LOOK AT THAT FACE! SO ADORABLE! I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!
Jade had to make a "bio-board" for one of her classes where she's working with the kids. It's a poster about her so the kids can get more familiar with her when she's there. She drew a bunch of stuff she likes- drawing- right up her alley!
Cutie-pie enjoying her lunch!
Ok, Jade's back to class... now trying to spot Kent...

Here's the man. He's pretty cute, too. Later after I had left, Kent sent me a text saying it was nice to see me at lunch time and visit. Made me so happy! He's a sweet boy!

Then I went over to visit my cute Grandma for a few hours before heading into work. Isn't' she cute- at 93 years old even!?!?!?!

I have been working really hard at eating right. But my grandma had gotten cookies just for my visit. How could I refuse? So I told my self only 2. Then she said I needed another one. So ok, one more. And as I was leaving she reminded me again that she got them special for me, OK- so I had 4 total! But I did run 6 miles earlier that morning- I think I can handle 4 little cookies! Thanks Grandma!!

So I had a nice afternoon yesterday visiting with both the kids during lunch and my Grandma! Now it's off to work.

Later gators!

The Concert!

Sooo last Saturday night Jade and I went to a Christian Concert in Redmond held at Overlake Christian Church. It's the biggest church I think I've ever seen. I like our small church alot better, but this was a great place to have a concert!

The band was Casting Crowns. And there were 2 other bands that played the opening. Our friend, Maranda, bought 9 tickets and then just started asking around for who wanted to have a girls night out! I can't believe my daughter Jade is "one of the ladies" now. She's really all grown up. It was alot of fun hanging out with her. Some of the other moms had little girls and said they couldn't wait to spend time with their daughters as grown women, I do love it... sometimes I wish she'd be little again tho...

So on our way to meeting all the ladies, Jade and I stopped for some coffee... gotta have it!

The ferry ride over: on this side we have Brittany, Kristin, my baby Jade, cuz Laura and Rachel...

Over on this side we have Jeannie, Maranda, me and Robin...

We had dinner at Red Robin- always good...

Jade loves her chocolate milk shakes...

Me and my baby, she got a green Casting Crowns T-shirt...

Maranda who got the 9 tickets got the perfect seating placement, 3 rows of 3, so we were like in a little cube so we could all see each other and talk instead of a long row of 9.

The back 2 rows...

And the front row... they were kinda rowdy up there!
The band: Casting crowns...
During one of the songs they had this amazing painting artist just splash together this painting with-in minutes of Jesus. He used his hands and big buckets of paint and just slopped paint all over and this picture came alive before our eyes. This picture had to be about 8 feet by 8 feet. He was standing in front of it and splashing paint... it was amazing..

We had a great time. God is good!

Making cookies...

Jeromy and Aurora made peanut butter cookies last Saturday night together. He's such a great dad to Aurora. Always making an effort to spend special one on one time with her and doing things that interest her. Just being with her!

So he did a great job taking the "ingredients" picture...

And the cookies actually baking...And the final product! But he didn't get any of he and Aurora! I guess there's always room for improvement! The cookies were delicious by the way... and big!

I'll leave this picture of Jade with you. She's wearing her badge that gets her into the daycare on campus at OC. She's taking a practicum class that goes along with her early childhood education degree that requires 60 hours of observation at the daycare. But they just can't let anyone in there. So they have a background test done, we had to pay $30 to get a TB test done for Jade, then she got this special badge with her picture on it that she has scanned to let her in the area. I had to get her a special sparkly lanyard for her badge!

More pictures tomorrow!

Spreading it out.

I have so many pictures and so little time that I'm going to have to spread out this weekends post over the next few days!

First, for today, I have pictures of my dad's 69th birthday! Just wait till next year when he's 70- I already have visions of multi layered cake with 70 candles- it's going to be great!!!

So Misty and I took our parents out to lunch at Applebees. Dennis and Kelsey were there, too!!

The Quinn half of the table...

Kelsey got some birthday ice-cream, too! And she was not shy about asking the waiter for her ice-cream when it seemed to be taking too long...
I just wanted you to know it took 3 tries to get this picture of my dad! He likes to close his eyes for pictures, but to his defense my camera likes to trick you with a double flash...

Me and Kelsey!!!

Grandma, Kelsey and Grandpa... she is such a cutie-pie...

And the group- Kelsey, Dennis, Misty, dad, mom and me...Dennis, Misty and Kelsey... soooo cute! I told Dennis and Misty that Kelsey needed a new baby sister- they just both stared at me...

So these pictures will have to hold you over till tomorrow! I have pictures of the concert Jade and I went to Saturday night. And some of Jeromy and Aurora making peanut butter cookies together. So sweet- and delicious, too!

Exhausted!

I'm exhausted after this weekend! I have alot of pictures to post but I am just too stinkin' tired! I will (try to) post them tomorrow!

Isn't that a great picture of Kent running at the top? Love that boy! I think he's getting taller...
