Another update!

So my mom's appetite is getting alot better- not where it was but alot better. But she just couldn't eat the chocolate cupcake at last night's dinner. Jeromy helped her out- isn't he so thoughtful- and so cute!
Here's my mom and I. This was at the end of a long day. She was pretty tired. She was ok with these pictures taken. I told her we had to perk up in the next picture.
This is what we got- we were crackin up! She's alot more fresh in the morning. She is a HARD worker with her physical and occupational and speech therapist, but she is exhausted when she is done.
This morning was really great- she had ALOT of movement in her arm- finally! The OT lady was calling it Spontaneous Recovery, my mom and I liked the sound of that so we were calling it that all morning. Yay mom!

So most of you know I've been spending every night with my mom. And you may be wondering how Jeromy is doing. Well, not too bad. This is what he was driving last week- yuck- I won't even get in that vehicle.
Now this is in our driveway: A 2013 Toyota Tacoma! His dream truck. He said if he were to win the lotto this would still be the truck he'd want. It's also his first new vehicle ever! Yay Jeromy!
So I'm heading back to my mom now. She has physical therapy at 3:30 and I like to see her walk!

Update

So... I've been getting requests to update my mom's condition. So Monday she had a severe stroke. She lost all function on her right side. She has been making slow progress everyday. Two days ago they strapped her into a device that's suspends her over a treadmill then she kind of feels weightless over a treadmill and then she walks. Yesterday she walked down the hall two times (she is at a rehab facility) with only a cane... And today... She walked by herself- without a cane. Her one leg is pretty stiff  but SHE IS WALKING!!!!!!!!  Her arm is still not moving but he does feel electrical currents running thru it every once in a while which is good. Her speech is a lot better also.

That is the update so far. More to come when I have time.

My mom had a stroke yesterday morning. I know she's in God's hands but would appreciate your prayers anyway. Thank you.

Guess what today is???

Today, Jeromy and I celebrate 5 years of marriage! Yep, on this day, Oct. 20, 2007 we were happily wed! YAY!

So I took a ba-jillion pictures today to show how we spend our anniversary! Get some coffee folks!

First we celebrated by giving each other cards... mine I put together last night at work, and Jeromy gave me 2 cards- one the kids can see... and one they can't lol!

Then right after that, Jeromy and and Kent left for "Men's Breakfast" at church. It starts at 8 AM. They didn't get back till about 11 AM.
Then Aurora and I headed to the craft store to pick out the material for her doll's Christmas dress, and did you know that this girl likes owls? I did not know that! She picked out some owl material- not really Christmas-y but I told her she could pick out what ever she wanted, but the accent colors are in a pretty Christmas green color...
Then Kent and I headed to the barber shop where he was getting a hair cut and his beard trimmed for the first time... here's the before...
And after- there's my handsome boy again! It may be hard to see how long his beard had gotten but in the second picture you can see his neck, in the first one you can't! He said he's going to grow it back out :o( oh well...
I wanted to get another cute picture of him, but he wasn't cooperating... come on Kent just smile
He waits till I'm just about to snap the picture then does something- like shove his face into the camera... what a comedian... (see Jeromy in the back?)
Laughing at something Jeromy said...
Just smile dude!
Finally a smile...
Then Jeromy, Aurora and I went out to run a couple of errands... we got our annual picture at the waterfront where Jeromy proposed... Aurora took it for us... (see my new purple coat from Costco Laura?)
We also got the Movie "It's a Wonderful Life". I barely remember the movie, and Jeromy, Kent and Aurora had never seen it. Well it was awesome. We had our anniversary steak dinner while we watched the movie... with Kent and Aurora...
Yep we pretty much spent our anniversary with our kids. And we were thankful- BECAUSE we didn't know until YESTERDAY if we would have to work today- BOTH OF US ALMOST WERE FORCED TO WORK- ON OUR ANNIVERSARY. Oh man there would have been alot of crying folks if that had happened lol.

Dad and daughter...
Mom and son...

There they are again. He sure does love that sweet girl!

Jeromy also got a haircut... he didn't really want this picture taken, but I told him the people would want to know everything that happened on our anniversary day.. right? right?
So later in the evening I had planned on doing some serious cooking. While I was doing that, Jeromy and Aurora played some games....
Then some more games...
While Kent worked on his homework....
He's taking 2 classes this quarter- and before you ask why is he only taking 2 ... this is part of an assignment for his Engineering Physics class.... hhmmmmm....
And here's some of his homework for his Calculus 4 class... oh man... really?
Ok, back to my cooking. I tried a new recipe: meatloaf... looks pretty good. My goal is to make 2-3 dinners on the weekend, so Jeromy, Kent and I all have some good home cooked food made with love in every bite during the week while we are at work/school. (Proverbs 31 wife ya know!)
I also made tilapia and quinoa- that's one of our staples now. They say you should have fish twice a week, oh man and it is sooooo good! I bake the fish in butter and huge chunks of cut up onion and some spices.

After finishing up the fish dinners, I made another new recipe that I found. I made my first beef and vegetable stew- it took 2 hours to cook... yummmmm...
Poured it over a bed of brown rice cause that's how we roll around here... my 3 are the smaller portioned containers...
And just cause I have that "A"-personality type I like to put little labels on the dinners I make. Cause once every thing's frozen it's hard to tell what it is and I like to know what I'm eating!
Now Jeromy, Kent and I have yummy dinners for the whole next week and them some- and 3 different choices to choose from!
We had a great day. God has blessed me with such a wonderful hard working goofy loving family man!
Happy Anniversary to you Jeromy, my best friend! I love you so much!

It's my mom's unbirthday!

So the other day it was my mom's unbirthday (if you don't understand watch Alice in Wonderland). So we've been joking around with getting each other unbirthday presents. My American Girl doll was an unbirthday present to me. So like I was saying it was my mom's unbirthday the other day so I had been working on making her something for about a month. Here she is about to open it!
I made her a super cool cross stitch alphabet sampler, everything to do with sewing/crafts- perfect for my mom! She loves it! Happy Unbirthday mom!
It was also craft day at my mom's, so while I was there I made my dolls Christmas dress- isn't it sparkly? Kimmy this reminds me of you cause I know you like silver and blue Christmas decorations- me too!
Here's Jade's Christmas dress again, of course they are just trying them on, they are both back in their fallout fits till December 1st- THEN they can wear their Christmas dresses. This next weekend when Aurora is over we are going to the fabric store to pick out material for the dress she picked out. Fun!
Ok, so Saturday morning, Jeromy and I were getting ready at different times and when I came down stairs we had actually worn the same shirt with out planning it! Jeromy loves that stuff- I think it's goofy, but I didn't change cause he thinks it's all romantical and I love him! Cheese balls we are!
And a new purchase.... I am so excited about this. I have been wanting to get one of these Sonic toothbrushes for a long time now... and we finally got them today! Let me tell you, I was not expecting the amount of vibration it produces. It scared me, Jeromy laughed at my reaction- it took 2 hands for me to control it cause I was worried about hurting myself- of course I didn't, but it felt like putting a power tool in my mouth. But my mouth felt like it does when I leave the dentist office after the 6 month cleaning! Is it weird to look forward to brushing your teeth? Let me answer that for you- YES! But I don't care- it's awesome!
And lastly a picture of my 2 favorite guys: my husband Jeromy and my son Kenton. We all hung out pretty much all weekend. It was great! We watched the Movie Ben-Hur, I've never seen it before. It was pretty great- though we had to spread it out over 2 days cause the movie is almost 4 hours long!

Good night!

Feeling really blessed...

I am feeling really blessed- though I am suffering from my second cold in less than a month. At least I have one nostril I can breathe out of :o)

I've started back into our fall Women's Bible study on Thursdays. We are doing the Excellent Wife study, I've been wanting to do this one for a while now so I'm really excited- so is Jeromy lol!
Feeling blessed with family... I got our 3 generation pictures back today of my mom, Jade and I. Wearing fun fall colors! Last time we did this grandma Shield was in the picture and Jade was 10 years old, in this picture she is 20, if we keep this up and do it again when she's 30 we should have 4 generations again- no pressure Jade!  Love my mom and love my daughter- God is so wonderful to bless us with family...
And then I get to do fun stuff, too! Mom, I went to the fabric store and got my doll's Christmas outfit material, I wanted something blue that made me think of snow, and this blue with silver sparkly snow flakes is perfect with silver sparkly trim and ribbon. I know it's not the classic red or green for Christmas but that Katie doll likes to stand out- you know how she is...
And since you gave me your duplicate pattern I was able to cut them out... I'm going to try to force myself to wait till next Tuesday to sew at your house! Must sewwwww...
So thankful for all God has blessed me with... even the one nostril to breath out of...

More stuff...

Kent really enjoys his coffee- like mother like son, but he didn't like downing a cup before school cause it made him jittery, he likes to drink it slower, so I saw these cool thermos things at Costco- and you get 2 of them- perfect! Kent was happy to be able to bring his coffee to school and work on his Calculus 4 assignments!
After dropping him off, I headed over to my moms to work on Jade's doll's dress. Jade, Aurora and I all picked out Christmas dresses for our dolls, and Jade had also picked out her fabric (Aurora and I still have to go to the fabric store!). I was able to start and finish it today! That was a tough pattern to make for a newbie- but with my mom's help we got it figured out- actually she figured it out and explained it multiple times to me! Theeeennnn I got it!

Here it is. Do you like it Jade? I got that lace with the beading at the fabric store yesterday- Jeromy was sweet enough to wait in line for almost an hour with me- yesterday was not the day to go to the fabric store lol!
It ties in the back- kinda hard to see...
Yep- I think she likes it!
Time to go to work! These doll clothes don't pay for themselves- unless it's from the grandma Cindy material store in her craft room- thanks mom!

Crazy Weekend!

So Saturday morning, we all headed over to my mom's to hang out. My mom and I were working on doll clothes! My mom is getting her patterns all squared away...
Aurora and Jade also brought their dolls over. My mom made a great lunch for us, too!
I finished my doll's Autumn outfit- she doesn't "do" Halloween- it's the devils holiday ya know! So cute- a little busy, but I love the little cross-stitched pumpkin!
Look how cute our dolls are...
We love our dolls!
And a picture of the bearded guys...
After that we had plans to go to the pumpkin patch: Hunter Farms! They have a huge hay maze... Jeromy drug Aurora into the maze...
They also have a cool corn field maze...
Love this group of people...
Cool...
We all rode this tractor pulling a huge trailer with blocks of hay to sit on and rode it way out into the pumpkin field where we all picked out a pumpkin- Jeromy and I are sharing one... then rode the tractor pull back to the main farm area... it was such a beautiful day...
They have a little store there and hot dogs that we decided would make a good dinner, and some kettle corn...
Look who else got a pumpkin....
Sunday after church we hurried over to Laura's house for her surprise 40th birthday party! We got their just a few minutes before she showed up! Check out the cake- there are 40 candles on that baby!
Laura is keeping warm by the fire...
 Jeromy and the beautiful Julia...
Can you believe that face is 40- gorgeous! And her handsome son Stormy...
A bunch of us girls: Jade, Katie, Aurora, Laura and Hannah... tons of friends and family came to wish Laura a fabulous Happy Birthday!
Then sadly it was time to take Jade back to the airport... my baby girl... she's looking forward to seeing her dad again tho...
Brother and sister saying goodbye at Seatac... love those faces soooo soooo much!
Now I only have Kenton at home- have to hug him everyday... oh wait I already do!
So glad tomorrow is a holiday. I need a day to just chill.... good night!
