This weekend....

Kind of a busy weekend we had here. Friday, Jeromy headed out to his "Men's Retreat" for the weekend, that our church was putting on. He has really been looking forward to it. So while he was gone, Jade, Kent and I headed over to my mom's house. I had the night off from work. I was making dinner for my parents and us. I made that dinner I made the other night with the brown rice, lentils and shredded chicken- so gooood! Then grandma, Jade and I started sewing more clothes for our American girls dolls.

I think we kept grandma up kinda late. Woops! Sorry grandma! Jade was spending the night, but Kent and I left cause we were running in the Whaling Days 4 mile run together Saturday morning right before the Whaling Days parade.

This was kind of a special run, cause it was just me and my son. And it was Kent's first time ever running 4 straight miles.

Once we got there we ran into Kyle! Actually we knew he was coming so I had my camera ready when I saw him!
Here's Kent warming up with alot of other runners just before the start... see him in his bright neon yellow shirt? And that crazy hat he ALWAYS wears when he runs in Whaling Days???? He always runs the 1 mile so I asked him did he really need to wear that for 4 miles? Well, he insisted... he did get alot of compliments about his "head gear"- at least we think they were compliments lol...
Here's Kenton and I about to run our 4 miles together!!!
All done! We got medals this year! Cool! The race was also done by timing chip which they have not posted the results as of yet, but since Kent and I crossed the finish line together (so cool!) we'll have the exact same time- what ever that is!
We decided not to stay for the parade cause we were tired. And I wanted to get back to my moms and sew clothes with her and Jade for our cool dolls... Once Kent and I got cleaned up at home we headed back to my moms, check out our Whaling Days T-shirts..... and the shiny spot on my forehead....
Okay onto the dolls. Jade, my mom and I sewed all afternoon while watching movies. It was a total thon, and my mom kept bringing out the chocolate...gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr- but it was so good.

Here's the new outfits Jade and I made. My doll: Katie, is on the left, and Jade's doll: Jade is on the right! How cute are they? Jade did a great job on her little white shirt and green dress, she also added the little yellow buttons. She's a pretty fast learner when it comes to sewing... must run in the family.
A close up of mine, my mom has such cute materials and soooo many. Who needs to go to the fabric store?? Doesn't she have cool green eyes? See the cute little purple star accent?
Check out the detail on her sparkle boot cut jeans... a sparkly silver star, there's one on the other side, too.
Here's a couple outfits I also made for Aurora's doll which hasn't even come in the mail yet. Right now her favorite colors are orange and yellow, so the dress and the shirt, and another pair of sparkly pants with the little yellow flower detail. My mom has everything!
So we stayed till about 8pm, I actually was starting to get tired, too!

Thanks mom for a great weekend! Jade and I had alot of fun. I think Kent enjoyed himself, too, just relaxing and eating too much chocolate!

Jeromy comes home tomorrow. I can't wait. He's been gone too long, but these retreats thru church only happen about once a year. And it's great timing. He can get refreshed with God's Word, and be well grounded for his first day back to work at the shipyard- he will need it!!

Hey- I just got a call from Jeromy, he's on his way home tonight! Yay!!! He'll be home at about 11:00PM- woo-hoo!!!

Good night!

Yep... it's been a while....

Some randomness for you. The other day I tried a new recipe. It has brown rice, lentils, some yummy seasonings and shredded chicken all baked in the oven for an hour- YUM! Mom, I think this is what I'm going to make Friday night, yummy AND healthy!
We had our yearly family picture taken... and you can see the colors we chose: yellow and orange!
Our family turtle, Dynamite, died a couple days ago. Kent was pretty sad, she was his pet since he was about 9-10 years old, about half of his life. So he and Jeromy buried her in the back yard and placed the rocks that were in her cage over the burial spot. RIP Dynamite.
Now look at these two wonderfully adorable faces... Aurora and her dad.... so cute!
A couple more cute faces that I love so much!!! Can you see Jade's bands on her braces are orange??
Wanted to make sure you got to see Kent's beard in all it's scruffy-ness. I can't believe he can grow it like that.... Kent loves it!
Also we have some big news!!! Yesterday was Jeromy's last day at Sunrise Pest Management BECAUSE MONDAY HE STARTS HIS FIRST DAY BACK IN THE SHIPYARD!!! He's been working on getting back in for about a year and it's finally happening! Woo-hoo!

Another funny thing... while out to dinner tonight, I was having coffee, and I asked Aurora to pass me the white sugar and Jeromy said "I thought I was your white sugar" and Aurora just rolled her eyes... the things these kids have to listen to! Our love hahahahahaha!

That is all.

So for the 4th of July we were invited to Laura's church party at the pastor's waterfront property! Aurora and Jade made red, white and blue strawberries (dipped in white chocolate and dipped in blue sprinkles- genius!)

The party people.
They had alot of friendly family games. A balloon toss...

Julia left, then we left,we headed to Mcdonalds where Julia works! Snapped a picture of her cute self!
Headed to the waterfront to support our church who were giving out free hotdogs and tracks and had a free bouncy house for the kids to play in. Kent found a spot along the water and just chilled.

Now onto to getting ready for Aurora's 13th birthday party. Isnt' she adorable???
She wanted everything yellow and orange. She also wanted her cake to be a pumpkin cake- very delicious!
Kent and Jeromy bonding... I think...
Grandma Cindy got to hold Raven...
Look at all these cute girls waiting patiently for the party... Natalie, Kelsey, Hannah and Hannah...

Kelsey got to hold Raven, too, not sure if Raven is down with that...
After the party we took Aurora out to dinner to Red Robin, and told them it was her birthday. Don't think she appreciated that LOL
So cute!
The next day we were headed to a wedding in Lacey. A co-worker of mine was getting married. Yay Dan! It was a beautiful wedding out side, the weather was perfect!
Dan and Jamie...
Then the dancing. Alot of people from work came to support Dan. My friend Frances came with her girls who were all excited to dance along side the big girls.
They were doing some kind of line dancing. It was so cute!
A video...
Then it was time to take Aurora home :o(
She's such a cutie pie and now 13...
One happy dad!
