RAINBOW!!

Had some pears and raspberries....

Tonight at work I'll eat my strawberries and blueberries...

For dinner I made one of our favorites... ground turkey, with scrambled eggs, added some onion flakes and minced garlic mmmmmm...

Then oven roasted some vegetables: red, orange and yellow peppers and some artichoke hearts...

After baking I like to chop them up really small...

Then dinner is ready for tonight: rice, with the ground turkey-egg mixture, then the vegetables and then final some teriyaki soy sauce... my mouth is watering! The only thing that would make this better is if it was brown rice not white rice, but the family likes white better!

Just thought we needed some color on this dreary day!

Mini Spring Break Tuesday

Actually Jade and Kent are back to school, but Aurora is still on her Spring Break! She is with us thru tomorrow. So I took today off so we could all pretend we are on "Spring Break Tuesday", of course after Jade and Kent get out of school for today.

So here's Kent on his way to school. He's taking Pre-Calculus, Beginning Photo shop and Japanese 3 at the college... did I mention he's only 16?? Yeah, I'm sure I have! He was pretty proud of his Hawaiian shirt...

Here's Jade on her way to class. I thought she looked so grown up. I had made a pot of coffee- for me! And when it was time to take her, she had gotten a thermos and made herself some coffee with cream and sugar. It just made her look so grown up to me... having her coffee on the way to class! She's taking 3 classes at the college, and 2 online classes all having to do with Early Childhood Education (ECE): Child abuse and neglect, guiding children's behavior, observation and assessment, infant/toddler care giving curriculum and family childcare management.

Soooo, after both kids were done with school, we started our Spring Break Tuesday. We started it by going to visit Grandma Shield! She even let me take a picture of her! If you have a teen or preteen girl around, you may notice that the "IN" thing to do is where mix-matched socks! Jade and Aurora are no exception. While visiting with grandma it just made me laugh...

Then we went out to a nice dinner at Apple Bee's. I actually got some really goofy pics of Jeromy, we were cracking up so much. But he looks too goofy- so I will spare you those shots! Here we are...

Kent loves his ribs...OH MY GOSH... TOO MUCH CUTENESS IN ONE PICTURE!!!!After dinner, we headed to Target to get the new Tangled movie, and of course some dessert for the show. Pretty great day overall... I don't know how those Disney people can make a grown person cry... 3 TIMES even! If you haven't seen Tangled, you should! Super cute!

Saturday and Sunday... stuff

Saturday we were having friends from church coming over. Jade and Aurora made homemade cookies. They made chocolate chip and oatmeal butterscotch....

We decided we were going to make BBQ hamburgers. So Jeromy hung a tarp over the BBQ grill out side cause of the torrential down pour, and when he opened the grill he said there was mold everywhere. So we thought we shouldn't make everyone sick the night before church. So we broiled the hamburgers in the oven... poor Jeromy- he was already to do the outdoor man thing with his over sized utensils... here he is in front of the oven...BBQing...

Some yummy stuff: lettuce, cheese, bacon, onions, tomatoes, pickles and other condiments... we had hamburgers, turkey burgers and hotdogs along with all the other amazing food people brought. MMMmmmmm strawberry shortcake... we eat good at these get-togethers...

Here's some twins! They have 5 kids in this family and I learned the 3 older kids names- Kyle, Haley and Jamie... I think the twins names are Carly and Chloe... I think...

Then we played this game... it's like 20 questions... I'm not a big game person but this was fun... there were so many little kids there... watching those mom's constantly after them was just exhausting to watch. I know my kids were little once and it WAS exhausting. But I couldn't believe how tired it was making me just watching those moms work!

Jade and Hannah... Hannah has a piece of paper taped to her forehead- yes taped- with a word she can't see but we all can and she has to ask 20 questions from the group to try to figure it out...

Sunday we had a potluck at church, followed by a man named David Ruben, from Israel, who comes to America and speaks at different churchs who want to know what's going on over there. He came last year and spoke also. It was fascinating in case you were wondering. And he looks so much like my bio-dad it was weird. I kept wanting to go up to him and say "Um, you look like my biological father I never see... can I have a hug?". But than would have been a little weird... for him-- lol.

Poor Kent, even during his spring break he doesn't seem to get enough sleep...

We played some games before the potluck, some people played indoor volleyball. We also played this game called "Monopoly Deal", it's basically Monopoly being played only with cards... it was my first time ever playing... and I won... just sayin'...yeah I'm a little competitive.Jade, Hannah and Treva enjoying the food... Jade also went rolling skating with Hannah and some of the Trig kids from 1-4 today....And lastly I leave you with Kent's "in-process" hair cut that cracked me up...Hope you all had a good one out there!

Pre-training Training...

Does that make sense?? Sometime next month I officially start my half marathon training again!! So right now I'm holding steady at running 4 miles about 4 times a week. Just finished running my 4 today... cooling down.... this might be TMI but I can't shower right after running cause it takes so long for me to cool down that I could literally still be sweating after I get out of the shower if I shower too soon... yeah... kinda gross... so I have to wait a few.

We are having our family fellowship tonight. Several families are coming over tonight. Jeromy was in the mood to make hamburgers. So we got Costco hamburgers and also turkey burgers. Those hamburgers are a whopping 25 grams of fat each while the turkey burgers are only 6 grams of fat... just sayin'. And Aurora said bacon burgers sounded good, so we got bacon! Yum, haven't had a bacon burger in forever... good thing I ran 4 miles :o)

Aurora!

Last night Jeromy went to Aurora's school for a family dance night. I thought he should get her a corsage cause I remember doing that when I was a kid. Well he got her this adorable corsage... but it turns out it was a very casual thing, no one else had one- sorry Jeromy! But Aurora will remember her dad was there!

Here's Aurora, her school was having a licorice sale to raise money to send to Japan...Here's Aurora's little brother Boston, who turns 1 next month, that is also Aurora's step-dad Edwardo. So glad they all get along!In today's events, we all went to OC to get Jade and Kent's school books for spring quarter, & it didn't break the bank I was sooo happy! They both start back up next Monday.

I also just finished another 4 miles, I really needed it cause we had a HUGE potluck at work yesterday and I think I over did it. It's after 1pm today and I'm still full from yesterday! Yowch!

We also dropped off the kids at grandma and grandpas cause they wanted to spend the night once during their spring break so I'm hoping to see some cute pictures of those kids tonight on your blog mom while I'm at work... please???

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

Today is my mom's 61st birthday!!!

My sister, Misty, and I took her out to lunch! We went to Apple bee's. Our dad couldn't make cause he was feeling sick, and Kent wasn't there cause he was still celebrating over at Kyle's for his birthday. Soooo, there was my mom, Misty, Kelsey, Jade, Jeromy and myself!!

Ran another 4 miles today-
WOO-HOO!!!

While Jeromy is job hunting for another job, he is staying busy doing side jobs. One of them was putting drywall up, hanging some doors, some lights etc at the church office garage. Lately he has been cutting down trees and chopping the wood into cords for another guy we know. It's physically exhausting work (at least I think so) but it's making him money until he gets another job.

Today is also one of my favorite cousin's birthday--- KYLE!!! Ok- to be more precise he is my 1st cousin once removed! Kyle is 17 today woo-hoo!!! Have a great day Kyle!!

Running is a good tension reliever... ran 4 miles today.

Sunday Sunday

We just got back from church. I wasn't in the actual service today cause I now officially help Jeromy during Sunday school for the 6-8 year olds, every 2 out of 8 weeks I think. But Kent, who is the sound-tech-guy, makes copies of the sermon for all the Sunday school teachers each Sunday, that's just what he does!

After church, I made our yummy rice, ground turkey and oven roasted vegetables. I added eggs this time to make it even more stir-fry-ee like! YUM!

Today is also my cousin Laura's husband Jason's birthday! I wish I had a picture of Jason- oh but wait- I DO! I actually have my hot little hands on their most recent family picture! You wanna see it??? Sure you do! Here they are in all their cuteness! Jason, Laura, Kyle, Shane, Max and Hannah... kinda blurry with my camera tho...That's about all for now. Think I'm going to go take a nap! Later gators!

Last weekend and this week..

I got some flowers from Jeromy... always colorful and pretty... Here is our neighbors tree that is falling into our yard right over our shed and chicken coup. It's caught in the trees for now. Jeromy went and told the neighbors, Jeromy said he took everything out of the shed so tools don't get damaged and the lady very rudely said "That's a good idea". They don't plan to do anything about it. Awesome.

We had our family fellowship get together last Saturday. The little girls Natalie and Grace were checking out the little chicks. They are not so little anymore, or cute, I think they are ready to go outside. But I think they need a little longer. Jeromy has already enlarged the coup outside for them. We have 8 chickens now- crazy!

Natalie gets an aerial view...Everyone just hanging out, visiting, eating and having fun...Juan and Maria came out for a visit, too, the kids love it...Here's Lilly and Aurora, both 11 years old. Lilly spent the night Saturday night, yay!And today, Jade and I had long over due haircuts needed! Here's Jade before...And after, she got all the uneven layers at the bottom evened up and she got BANGS! Love that cute face!!Here's my before, I love long hair, but I had some serious split ends that needed taking care of...And after, I got about 7 inches cut off and some layering going on... so much healthier...MmmmKay the treadmil is calling my name!
